Adam 40 walked through the forest and touched a tree. Its bark fell off revealing a neat cylinder inside it. The cylinder had a display screen on it. Adam 40 touched the cylinder. "Master, I don't appreciate you touching my body like that..." Diana's voice echoed through the forest. Adam 40 fell down laughing. "You always know how to crack me up..." he said once he was done, "But I need to check your hardware to make sure everything is working fine." He touched the screen once again. "Very well." Diana's voice echoed through the forest. The cylinder opened up revealing a glowing sphere floating inside it. "Hmmm... the core seems to be functioning properly..." Adam 40 said after looking at its fluctuating glow for a few seconds, "Okay, you can get dressed up again, Diana." The cylinder closed up. The bark flew back onto it. It was a normal tree once again... just like any other tree in the forest. Adam lay down under it and looked into the sky. He whistled a tune. "You have never told me what that tune is about..." Diana's voice whispered into his ear. He closed his eyes and sighed. "This tune... is one of the mistakes I made..." he answered, "Do you know anything about-" he was interrupted when a sudden beam of energy was shot through his chest. For a few moments, he lay still... as if he was dead. Then, his damaged organs regenerated, his bones and flesh grew back and his skin covered him up. "Adam 253: Death by absence or malfunction of heart. Adam 631: Death by absence or malfunction of lungs. Adam 593: Death by blood loss. You cannot kill me with this level of damage..." he spoke as he got up and looked at his shooter.

"Master, shall I eliminate the threat?" Diana's voice echoed through the leaves of the forest. "That won't be necessary, Diana." Adam said calmly, "He's an old friend... be a dear and make us a sandwich."

"Error. Bread not found. Shall I order some and prepare the sandwich?"

"You're supposed to refuse and accuse me of being sexist!"

"Understood. Request denied. Make your own sandwich you sexist prick."

"That's more like it-"

He was interrupted by another shot through his chest. "Will you stop doing that, please?" Adam said to the man who stood in front of him, "It's starting to get annoying... Robert..." The man in front of him grinned and put his gun back in its holster.

"Why did you hire me?"

"I needed an idiot with a gun."

"What? Don't have a gun of your own? Or is yours broken?"

"You never did hold back on your comebacks... anyway, I need you to try and kill four people..."

"And now I've seen it all... I never thought you were capable of wanting to kill someone... are you sure this isn't one of your devious plans to save the universe without actually killing anyone? I ask this because this smells suspiciously similar to something you pulled before..."

"I honestly want you to kill these kids."

"You want me to kill kids... now I KNOW this is just one of your schemes..."

"Uh fine! Look at it whatever way you want... I will give you a fair warning. Do not go easy on them. Strike not to hurt... strike to kill."

"Okay, I know you're serious when you start getting poetic like that..."

"Okay, Robert. I'm going to-"

"Okay then! Got it! See ya!"

"No! Wait I still have to-"

The man had already teleported away before Adam could complete his sentence. "That idiot..." Adam said in a lazy voice, "I haven't even given him pictures of his targets..." "Master, I've already sent him all available data on his targets." Diana's voice echoed whispered into his ear. "Wow, this new whispering module makes your voice sound really good..." Adam said as he looked at his watch. "Are you waiting for something to happen, master?" Diana asked. Adam shrugged and said, "Nothing important... now I just have to see if they surpass this..."

Morning woke up and found that he was lying on ice. He looked around. It was just ice everywhere. He was alone in the ice. He was lost and alone. He was sure his friends would not have abandoned him without a solid reason. He tried to move but his muscles would not move. He tried to shout but no sound came out of his throat. He saw a dark figure walk towards him. He could not make out its features or face. In fact, it just looked like a blob of darkness. He had a strange feeling. He tried to speak but he remembered that he could not speak. The creature answered his question even though he did not ask. "Who am I? I am part of you..." it spoke in a muffled voice. He tried to ask something again. "Should I speak louder?" the creature asked in a muffled voice, "Then you probably should not suppress me..." Morning wondered what the creature meant by that and he then noticed that the creature was walking slowly and painfully as if it was dragging something very heavy while being crushed down at the same time. "You're wondering what I mean... I see... Let me show you..." As the creature spoke these words, the ice around Morning melted. As it melted, it changed colour from white to black. Very soon, he found himself sinking in an ocean of black. Previously, he could not speak or move but now he could not even breathe. Yet, he remained calm. He thought of another question. However, he realised that there was no one with him. He tried to looks around but all he saw was an endless ocean of black. He did not know how much time had already passed... he wondered if he was going to be stuck in this place forever...

He heard a voice call out to him. He did not recognise it at first as it was muffled by the water around him. He then realised it was Pony calling him. He wondered where he was and how she had found him. He tried to speak back and found that he could now speak. "Pony... where am I? Where are you?" his voice was weak. "What do you mean 'Where are you?' I'm right in front of you." He heard her voice again. He felt his consciousness returning. He could feel is senses giving him information about the rest of his body... the only thing that remained was the darkness. He then heard another voice, "Ah yes, I'm afraid the treatment was only temporary... I'll have to inject him again." He felt a sharp prick on the back of his neck. Suddenly, he felt a dizzying amount of visual information hit his brain. The dark ocean around him faded into a blinding display. He closed his eyes and rubbed them. His head hurt. When he opened his eyes again, he saw Adam, Chris, Eve and Pony standing in front of him. They were all on a rock. Apparently, they still had a long way to the peak of the mountain. "Wha... what happened to me?" he managed to speak.

"You were born blind." Adam said in an indifferent tone, "You were only able to 'see' what you had already calculated in advance. Unfortunately, since your mother sealed up your powers, you had only managed to calculate till this point... after that, your brain switched back to its original image of the world... the image which a blind person sees... just blank darkness. Now, I've been working on a temporary cure for this but someone will have to be with you at all times to inject you whenever you need another dose." Morning nodded to everything. "Also..." Adam continued, "I had instructed Diana to use random events and recordings from her database to give you dreams... but it looks like she used the wrong set and you ended up dreaming weird stuff every night... I apologise for that..." Morning nodded and said, "That's alright... but you don't have to change that. I'm actually interested in this story... I want to know what happens..." Adam grinned and handed over a box to Pony. "There's about enough for a month in there... Also, I've fixed a little bug in medication... now you won't be dropping asleep at exact timings. I've made such that you will fall asleep normally like everyone else..." he said and teleported away.

"Master, Robert is now tracking the children. But if your intention really was to kill them... why fix the boy's sight?" Diana's voice echoed through the forest. "Quit pulling my leg..." Adam retorted, "You obviously know what my true intentions are. Besides... it wouldn't be fun for him if he had to shoot fish in a barrel... however, before you assume anything, let me tell you that I have complete confidence that even if I had left him blind... that kid would have found a way out..." "Master... Is that admiration I hear in your voice?" Diana's voice whispered into his ear. "I... I guess he reminds me of... me... when I was younger..." Adam spoke as he looked into a screen in front of him. On the screen was a video labelled "Live feed". It showed four youngsters. They continued on their journey upwards... towards the peak of the mountain... Chris turned to look at Morning. Something was different about him. Usually, Morning was calm and calculative... however, his face now exhibited a kind of pressure... as if he was dragging something very heavy while being crushed down at the same time.
