(Outdated) Deadly Trio ~ Skybrine, Enderlox, and WitherMU

Chapter Twenty Three

??? POV

I walked carefully on the slippery ice, moving at a slower pace than I wished. I eventually made it over to the entrance of a cave which was sealed off by a thick layer of ice. With a quick flick of my wrist, the ice shattered, sending razor sharp chunks in every direction.

Oops.

I took a step inside, then stooped down, picking up Sky. He was unconscious, probably from both the cold and the lack of energy. I stumbled slightly. The mixture of Sky's weight and the slippery ice made it nearly impossible to walk. Somehow I made back to the bank of the frozen lake, nearly dropping Sky on the stone ground. I continued to walk. The sky slowly grew darker. The cold and ice faded away into a dark, marshy forest. Beyond that was a huge mountain. I glanced up at it, seeing in the distance tiny figures trying to make there way up to the cave. I bit my lip, and broke out into a run. My arms shook slightly from overuse. I wasn't used to this sort of thing.

After a while, I was forced to stop. I would injure myself if I tried to continue. I could only watch the figures helplessly.

Ryan's POV:

Seto insisted we try to continue towards our goal, so with worried hearts, me followed him through the trees. We made it to the base of the mountain, and then started to scale it. It was incredibly slow going.

I dug my hand into a crack in the stone and dirt, hauling myself up onto a ledge. I than jumped to another, narrower one, and then climbed up again. I was near the middle of the group, with people like Seto and Skyler in front, and others like Ty and Tyler in the back. I panted slightly. This was exhausting.

"O-okay, I think we should stop for a minute," Seto said. He sounded out of breath as well, and his face was flushed with color. I sat down instantly, with a slight plop.

A couple people laughed, but most were too tired.

"This isn't going to work," Tyler pointed out.

Seto bit his lip.

"I....I can take three, maybe four people up there with me.

"I thought you couldn't teleport," I stated, confused.

Seto shook his head, still breathing hard.

"I can cast a spell....than you can fly..." He tried to explain. He looked revealed when we all understood.

"Um, if you don't mind, I'd like to stay here..." Jason said softly.

Seto nodded his consent.

"Here, um... Ty, Jerome, Skyler-" Seto started to say a fourth name, but was cut off.

"I'd like to go please," Mitch interrupted. Seto looked surprised, but didn't argue.

"The rest of you-"

"Stay here and don't burn the house down. Okay, got it daddy." I finished with a smirk.

Everyone laughed. Seto made a quick motion with his hand, and purple light surrounded the five of them for a second or two.

"Uh..." Mitch stared at himself. "I feel no different."

"And you shouldn't," Seto said. All at once he grabbed Mitch's hand, and jumped off the side of the mountain. Mitch and Jerome both screamed at the exact same time, And Skyler shouted Seto's name. Seto and Mitch hovered in the air, not even falling for a second. Hesitantly, Jerome Skyler and Ty did the same, jumping off of the edges. They all stared down in wonder. Ty tried to move, but ended up flipping upside down, his legs up in the air.

Seto rolled his eyes.

"I'm not gonna bother trying to teach you how to fly. All of you, link hands."

Seto held one of Skyler's hands, and Skyler grabbed Ty's. Jerome clung to both Ty and Mitch, a slightly scared look on his face.

"It's okay biggums," Mitch said, but he didn't sound to sure himself. Seto then shot upward, causing Jerome and Mitch to gasp. Skyler didn't even bat an eye.

Ty just looked sort of sick. I laughed softly.

Mitch's POV:

I was worried I was crushing Jerome's hand, I was squeezing it so hard. I started to loosen my grip.

"No!" Jerome cried. "Please Mitch, I'm scared enough already."

So I stopped loosening my grip, and clung to his hand all the more, like it was a lifeline. I made the mistake of looking down.

"OH F**K!" I cried, the words slipping out of my mouth. I turned my head quickly. Than I was on solid ground again. We had landed at the mouth of the cave. We all quickly released hands. Seto walked over to the cave and peeked his head in. He frowned. I understood why, It was very, very dark. Unnaturally so. Seto turned around to face us again.

"Ready?"

We glanced at one another.

"Ready."
