Ty's POV
I sat down at the long table, chugging a glass of water. I drained it and set it down with a clunk. Jerome grinned, and slid another glass across the table towards me.
"Race you!" he said, giggling. I smirked.
"You're on!" We both chugged the water. A loud bang echoed through the room, causing me to spit the water everywhere. We all turned, shocked, to see Seto storm into the room, closely followed by Jason. Seto threw a large leather bound book onto the table with a loud thump.
"We have a situation" he said grimly.
"What?" Sky asked, confused.
Seto opened the book to a random page. It was covered in runes and drawings. Alien shapes and lines covered the pages. Seto turned to Jason.
"Read this please." Seto demanded. Jason stepped forward, his face red.
"The two brothers and their two cousins ruled over the four sectors of the universe. The Overworld, the Nether, the End, and the Aether. As time went on, the second brother became restless, and unhappy. He convinced his cousins to betray his brother, and a huge battle commenced. The first brother managed to seal away the others in their worlds, but as the first brother held them there, he grew weaker and weaker. It is foretold that the restraints holding the others hostage will break. The three will take the form of three hosts, and using them, will cause death, and destruction. When the three swords of the hybrids meet, the first brother will rise again. He will call on the friends of the hybrids, and a battle beyond all expectations will occur." Jason read.
The hall filled with silence. Seto held up the book.
"Can anyone else read this?" he asked, looking around.
As I stared at the strange language, it slowly changed. The strange symbols seemed to melt into English. I was about to speak, when a voice in my head said,
Don't tell them.
I shook my head.
"I can't read it." I said. Afterwards I froze. Why couldn't I tell them?! Everyone else said they couldn't read it. Seto nodded, and turned to Jason.
"Sorry Jason." Seto said. He blasted Jason with a blast of energy, and Jason collapsed.
"SETO!" We all yelled. Seto turned to us.
"He shouldn't be able to read that. No one has been able to read that in generations. It's a forbidden language. Something happened to him. Is there somewhere we can put him, for a little while at least, where he can't get out?" Seto explained.
"Th...there's the dungeon, but..." Sky mumbled. Seto winced.
"Well it will only be for a little while. Until we figure out whats going on. Mitch, help me." Seto said grudgingly. Mitch nodded, and went to help carry Jason.
Jason's POV
I woke up on hard stone. I sat up, and than curled up in a ball, my head aching.
"Jason?" A voice said cautiously. I sat up, looking around. I was in one of the dungeon cells. I looked up to see Sky and Seto standing there.
"What is going on?" I asked, confused.
Both of them wouldn't look at me. Sky sighed.
"I'm sorry Jason, but, we don't understand what's going on, and with you suddenly knowing this forbidden language, and..." he trailed off, refusing to look at me. I stood up shocked, and outraged.
"Wait, you don't trust me for being able to read a book of legends?!" I spluttered. "What...I.."
Seto looked up.
"I'm sorry Jason, really, but.." he said apologetically.
I backed away from them. I had never, ever felt to betrayed.
"How could you..." I gasped. "Some fucking friends you are!"
Both of them winced.
"Jason, please..." Sky mumbled. My vision clouded over. I was shaking. I slid down the wall, tears running down my cheeks. Sky and Seto left, shutting the door behind them. My vision blurred as tears flowed freely down my face.
They don't trust you...
I lifted my head, surprised.
"Who...who said t..that?" I asked.
Me. Speak to me in your head so you don't look like a lunatic.
Did they...really distrust me that much? I thought, wiping tears out of my eyes.
Yes. But I can help you.
How?
Well, they betrayed you. Don't you want revenge?
I pondered it for a while, my tears gone by now.
Yeah, a little.
Than give me control. We can have plenty of fun.
I paused, hesitant.
They abandoned you, Jason. They left you to rot down here. Give me control.
Fine...
An unbearable anger filled me, and I stood up. I felt mad. I felt betrayed. I felt hurt. Most of all, I wanted revenge. The cell exploded. I shot up into the air, feeling powerful for the first time. I soared up into the air. To my surprise, my vision changed. It grew sharper and more focused. Two small robotic bat things formed on either side of me. I could see in the reflection of the gold building that my eyes had turned white. My space suit became a darker blue, and the jet packs turned off. I didn't fall though. I stayed suspended in the air, no longer needing the suit to fly. A scream pierced the air. I looked down to see a guard standing there, frozen in shock and fear. I landed in front of her. I pulled out my sword, which was glowing a blinding white, and stabbed her. She made a choked sound, and blood dribbled out of her mouth. She collapsed to the ground, drowning in a puddle of her own blood.
"JASON!" Someone yelled from behind me. I turned to see my "friends" standing there. They stared at me in shock.
"Jason, what did you do?" Ian said, horrified. I glared at him.
"Jason?" I asked, laughing. They slowly backed away from me. I bowed, smirking evilly. "Please, call me WitherMU."
