Hey, guys. I'd sincerely like to apologize for the lack of chapters. I feel guilty as heck, so I will try my absolute best to do better at that from now on. - Annabeth60510

Rob's POV

"How long do you think it's gonna take them?" I asked, brushing a stray bit of my brown hair out of my face. Preston shrugged, leaning back against a grey-brown boulder and shutting his eyes.

"I don't think we really have anyway of knowing." Ryan pointed out. "So I guess we just...wait?"

I opened my mouth to speak, but was silenced by the crunch of gravel. I jumped to my feet, whirling around, Lachlan and Tyler doing the same. There, behind us, was...nothing.

Our group fell silent, staring suspiciously at the mountainside. Ryan sucked in a breath, and we all were tensed to run, but nothing showed. As the minutes passed, our brief paranoia faded. I sat down again, head in hands. Despite the feeling of danger evaporating, no one spoke.

That's when the ground rumbled. It was very light, and barely noticeable, but I once again climbed to my feet, right as a rock the size of my head crashed down into the place I had been sitting only seconds before. I glanced up, in stunned horror.

"AVALANCHE!" Vikk shouted. I flung myself to the side, narrowly avoiding more rocks, some pebbles, and others the size of a car. Tyler let out a shriek as the ground underneath him crumbled, sending him sprawling.

"ROB!" Ryan screamed in warning. Something hit me, hard. My head whiplashed, so hard I could hear ringing in my ears. My vision turned to sh*t, and I fell to my knees, my knees burning against the rough gravel. I rolled to the side, a large boulder thundering past me down the mountain. A hand grabbed my wrist tightly, pulling me into a small hollow made up of two slabs of rock wedged into the dirt. Still not sure of who I was with, I waited there, crouched down with the other person as the pounding sound around up continued. My eyes burned from the dirt in the air, and my chest rocked with coughs. Arms wrapped around me in a hug. Whoever this person was, they were trembling in fear. I pressed my back against out stone barrier, squeezing my eyes as tight as they could go, praying for it to all end.

Tyler's POV

I crashed against the rocks, hard. Momentary shock dulled my senses, and I struggled to push air back into my lungs. A shadow passed over me. It was large....rather irregular shaped, and-

My brain registered what I was seeing, and with a weak shriek, I rolled to the side. The boulded hit the rock slab I was on with a deafening BANG, and then bounced down the sharp incline, kicking up dirt and stone. I coughed, shards of rock stinging my arms and face. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Preston grab Rob, pulling him underneath a slab of stone. With a sudden idea, I curled up into a small ball, arms up to shield my head. A scream of pain escaped my lips as a large rock fell on top of my leg, pinning me in place. I squeezed my eyes tightly shut, refusing to allow the tears welling up in them to get out. I weakly attempted to force the stone off, to no avail. WIth no other options, I pulled myself as close to the stone as I could get, and waited, trying to make my body as small as possible.
