The four teens spent the rest of the short walk to school idly chatting, Star knowing that Marco wasn't as comfortable as he usually was, due to her question. They got their late passes, and went their respective ways and to their respective classes.
tip, tap, tap. tip, tap, tap.
throughout what was left of first period, Star tapped her pencil, not paying attention at all to the lesson that was being taught.
I have to figure out how to fix this dumb spell!! Marco hasn't been acting all too different today, though... The only thing really off was when Tom was around yesterday...
"Star Butterfly?" The teacher called on her, snapping the princess out of her little world. "Can you answer the question?"
"WARNICORNS!!" Star blurted, not knowing what was going on, or what to answer. So, she just said whatever came to her first. Multiple students started laughing, but one familiar, cool laugh grabbed Star's attention.
"JACKIE!!" Star screeched in triumph over the troubling thoughts from earlier. This elicited only a very mild confused look from the totally tubular girl with blonde and blue beach waves.
Then the bell rang.
"Thank God. Get out of this class, you animals," the teacher sighed, putting her face in her hands as first period filed out, and second period filed into the class.
"JACKIE!! JACKIE JACKIEJACKIE!!" Star pounced to Jackie Lynn Thomas's side, catching the girl right before she hopped onto her skateboard, the flood of pubescent kids thinning.
"Heeey, Starr." Jackie lulled cooly, picking up her mode of transportation. "What's up?"
"Walk with me, walk with me," Star said, businesslike. She slapped a hand on Jackie's shoulder, walking in the direction of their next classes as she spoke. "I need a favor from you; like, a reeeeeaally big favor."
"Oh? Well, what's the favor, space princess? you know I've got your back, girl!"
"Well... I need you to go on a date with Marco. Reeally badly, too.. I swear, I'll pay you back, just pleeaase! It's an emergency!" The alien girl pleaded, about ready to grovel at Jackie's feet. The cool kid of the town burst our laughing, clutching her sides.
"What?" She gasped for air, "he ain't gonna ask me himself or something?" Finally calming down from the giggle session, leaving Star absolutely perplexed. "Yeah, yeah I'll go on a date with him. Doesn't he have, what, the worlds largest crush on me or somethin? I'll give him a chance! He does seem pretty interesting!"
Star gasped, clapping her hands in front of her mouth, squealing in happiness at Jackie's acceptance of the favor. The second bell rang, making Jackie & Star run to their next classes.
This will all be sorted out soon enough, Star thought to herself, settling at her desk for second period.
