everyone says it wasn't my fault
it was inevitable
but I was the strongest link in the chain
that wrapped itself around my parent's marriage
and tightened until
they both found the keys
unlocking everything they had
breaking each link.
the hardest part is
they also broke the strongest link
and that was
the most unfortunate part
