Dare 12: cooked broccoli and cheese

Chara woke up and went downstairs. She expected the smell of pie but she had smelt something else.

"Huh? What...?" She asked herself in confusion. Frisk was already at the table eating.... something green....?

"Hello my child, I thought that instead of pie, we could have something else for a change. It's only a small snack" Toriel said as Chara sat next to Frisk. She looked over to his plate and got a closer inspection. It was broccoli with cheese.

"Um... mom? Why is there cheese on the broccoli? And why are we eating broccoli?" Chara asked as Toriel set her plate down too.

"Because broccoli is good for you. And cheese just adds flavour to it. I read that on the Undernet" Toriel said. Chara used a fork to pick up a piece of broccoli and stared at it. It had some cheese on it which made Chara gag a bit. She hated vegatables. Of any kind.

"But mooooom" she whinned. "I don't wanna!"

"It tastes better than you think Chara" Frisk said, almost finished with his plate.

"Well.... alright, if you say so... but what if I don't like it?" Chara asked

"Well then you don't. Not everyone likes the same things Chara" Frisk said. "Just try it"

"But... I don't like broccoli" Chara said with a pout.

"Well maybe this'll makr you change your mind" Toriel said as she sat down with her plate too. She began to eat as Chara just stared at the piece of broccoli with cheese on her fork.

"What have you got to lose Chara?" Frisk asked as he finished. He put his plate away.

"My appetite" Chara answered.

"Come on Chara, or else no chocolate" Frisk grinned.

"What?! But you can't do that" Chara exclaimed.

"Yes I can" Frisk said. "I was the one you asked to get more chocolate and I can choose on keeping it"

"B-But!" Chara tried to argue. She sighed and ate the piece of broccoli.

"So?"

"How does it taste my child?" Frisk and Toriel asked. She thought for a moment

"Hm... it doesn't taste too bad but..." Chara said. "This still doesn't make me like vegatables"

"But you like it?" Frisk asked. Chara nodded.

"I guess it tastes nice... but..." Chara said.

"But what?" Frisk asked.

"I have another idea" Chara said as she took some broccoli without cheese and got a bag. Frisk looked at her, confused. He brought that back from the grocery store and the only foods in it were bread, sugar and...

"Chara please don't tell me you're trying chocolate on broccoli" Frisk said.

"No, chocolate syrup. Melting chocolate takes time." She said as she put chocolate syrup on the broccoli. Frisk facepalmed and Toriel sighed.

"My child, are you certain this is what you want to do?" Toriel asked.

"It could ruin your love for chocolate sonce you hate broccoli" Frisk said. Chara nodded and tried a bit.

"Oh... my... gosh...." Chara said. "This tastes.... awesome! Chocolate can make everything better!"

"Everything huh?~" Frisk whispered in her ear as he walked past her.

"F-Frisk?" Chara asked with a blush "W-What do...?"

"Hehe~" he chuckled as he went upstairs. Chara shrugged as she continued enjoying her veggie snack while Toriel stood there wondering who raised her flirty child and her chocoholic child.

Me: thank you Kitsune_Chara for the question. I've never tried broccoli with cheese but I have tried chocolate with broccoli. It actually doesn't taste that bad :3
