Chapter 10

Charles' POV

When Lexi was out of sight I twisted myself and faced my brother, Henry and I could feel my fist  curled together and said to him 'Lele?'

He replied with 'It's a nickname for her, I enjoyed talking to her but what the hell was a servant girl doing in the gardens?' He asked.

'Umm...she was with me I took her away from her duties and I probably got her in trouble but I will sort that out later.' He just stared at me then a smirk appeared on his and he said 'You like her don't you?'

'No.Yes...kind of.' I told him admitting to having a certain liking to Lexi but nothing can happen between us she is a servant and I am a King, I really wish she was royal or at least be of nobility so we can wed but that is impossible I am engage and that's final. Maybe I could ask her to runaway and live in the country with her but then I would have to give up everything that my mother has worked so hard to create. 

'Wow. Never thought my brother would have mistresses it's about time.' He smiled. 'Why would you think that I am bedding her and I also have a fiancee remember and Lexi is just a friend and that'a all we will ever be.' I told him straight forwardly.

'You are King and you don't need to be faithful to her like our father was to mother and you have needs.' He said.

'What is wrong with you. I don't want to be like our late father, he made mother miserable and he embarrassed her again and again with Diane. And bedding Mary of Scots' half sister and producing a daughter showing that he could have children years before Francis was born. I don't ever want to be our blood thirsting father. Got that?' 

'Of Course but I like her her personality is different for any girls at court I see why you love her. Anyways I got to go I promise Count of Champagne that we could hunting. See you at dinner, Charles.' With that said he walked off and left me. 

As I walked down I promised Lexi that I would help her out with being late to Mrs Warton so I headed to the kitchen so she wouldn't get in trouble with Mrs Warton and lose her job. I don't want her to leave maybe I could her by offering another position...

I was about to enter but then I heard someone talking to Mrs Warton so I just listened carefully and didn't interfere just yet...

Francessca's POV

Today was the day that I was going to talk to Mrs Warton about removing All..I mean Lexi into my services. I really need to get use to her fake name to be honest. I can't believe I finally found her, I wanted her to go home and be with her family; to rule Italia like she should've it's her destiny. I would  never expect her to ever runaway she was brighter than that. Does she even know how many people would kill to be in her place right now? She has everything she needs she is a royal for gods sake but she doesn't care she is being selfish at this point.

Adam. Her brother wants her to come back and be our Queen I wish I could tell him but she is my Queen and friend she will always come first. So I will respectfully accept what she is doing but only for a bit as the truth will always be revealed and there would be consequences to it.  I also could be in trouble for keeping the truth an may pay with my life and I cannot make my husband face embarrassment for my actions. I wouldn't allow it but I know Allie will try and protect me. I hope she does as I don't want to lose my husband and leave my unborn child motherless.

Yes. I am pregnant after all these months trying with my husband our greatest wish has come true, a child which we so desperately wanted. I have done my job as the dutiful wife I should be unlike someone II know. Alessandra. Never listens she was always like this as a child she wanted to show everyone a girl could do the same as a man but no one listened to her and to show this she runs away from her problems and ends up a maid in France without anybody knowing even her closest friends.

I reach the kitchen and I hear someone shouting 'How dare you leave your duties to go walk around. Unacceptable you should know that you are no noble to do so . You are a maid for God's sake. I have no option but to relieve you of your job. I am sorry Lexi you may go.' 

Then I see Lexi leave and I asked what happened and she said 'I got fired but I will tell the reason before I leave.' Leaving. NO! She can't I just found her now and as quickly as that she leaves i had to something so I entered to talk to Mrs Warton and she looked at me and she curtsied, saying My Lady afterwards. 

'I wanted to tell you that Miss Lexi Di G...De Luca shall be my personal maid if there is no problem I will take my leave.' I looked at her and turn around and started to walk away and she carried on with her task. 

Just then someone emerged when I turned to close the door and you wouldn't believe it was the King. I bowed so deeply to him as he is the highest person in the whole country beside Alessandra but nobody needed to know that. 

'You offered a job for Miss Lexi I see, My Lady.' He told me.

'Yes. I just happened to walk past and her all the commotion and found out the sweet maid who cleaned my rooms earlier on this morning was being fired and I just had to do it so I gave her a place as my personal maid as she did an excellent job.' I said.

'Thank You.' He said.

'Why are you saying sorry this has nothing to do with you?' puzzled by his response.

'On the contrary it does you see I dragged her away from her duties so she could relax and I wanted to apologize to her  but seeing you are here can you tell Lexi im truly am sorry for getting her fired. Goodbye My Lady.' That was it and he just left like that.

So I made my way to Lexi's room and open to see her looking at picture. I approached her and I sat down next to her you could see the tears in her eyes. The picture was her mother. She was a beauty no one could resist her and everyone loved her. You could see her in Alessandra mostly in her. Brianna her sister has the same eyes but they say she looks more like a paternal grandmother nonetheless both beauties but Allie is more prettier in my eyes.  

'I failed her.' She said

'No you didn't. You fought for what you believed in and she couldn't be more proud.' I retorted back.

'I left my throne and ran away like the stupid little girl I am. I didn't go to my sister's wedding like I promised. I left a disappointed twin to handle my affairs I need to be crowned in 3 months and then people will start to wonder where the hell I am the country will crumble into nothing. I need to go back but I don't want to.' She said

'Well, if you want to stay you can stay as my maid and be in my services as my personal maid. Also, we can leave in 3 months and go home you can stay with me their and abdicate your throne to Adam or you can go back to the palace and take the throne which rightfully belongs to you. You need to get up and be the true Queen you are  and show your mother you aren't a failure.'  I told her with a reassuring smile.

She looked at me then to the portrait 'Your right. I am Alessandra Di Giovanni, the rightful Queen of Italia and nobody is going to stop me from my destiny. After 3 more moths I will go home with you and I could be finally crowned to make sure my people see their rightful leader. However, now I just want to be a normal for a little while and understand how the underclass live.'

I smiled at her and we both knew that she will be,                                                                                                 Queen Alessandra Forenza Della Marco Di Giovanni of Italia...

I did a Francessca's POV to show her side of view and thoughts and  I am sorry for not updating for over 2 months but I have been enjoying the summer holidays, getting my GCSEs results (I passed) and starting my A-levels. Since it's the 1 week holidays I will try for another update this week.
