"Am I losing my mind?" The voice bubbled up through her chest and out her mouth within seconds as she sat up. The bed sheets wrapped around her like the tentacles of an octopus, and she automatically felt suffocated. She couldn't remember everything other than arriving at the house, nor could she remember anything afterwards...not even the part where she changed out of her clothes and crawled in bed. The massive button up white satin shirt clung against her skin that glistened with sweat."Everything okay Ms. Williams?" The voice seemed to glide through the air and hit her like a slap in the face. At first she couldn't process the voice or anything other than the fact that it was a man. Panic spread through her veins and her heart took a racing start towards the finish line that would never come. In an instant she had the covers wrapped around her more to hide the fact that she was hardly wearing anything.
"Hannibal?"The voice that escaped her chapped lips hissed in response as her dark maroon eyes searched the darkness for him. Only to find him sitting on a chair at the very opposite side of the room. He was perched with one leg crossed over the other, and a empty glass in one hand.
"Yes, dear?"
"Why the hell am I in bed? Where is Will?" She was trying to crawl into a sitting position and leaned forward with a groan. Her mind screamed in pain, and she felt as if she had been drinking all night. "Why..what is happening to me?"
"You will be okay." he stood up and slowly made his way over to her side of the bed. "I gave you a sedative last night to help you from all of the stress you have been experiencing. I convinced Will that everything would be fine and I even gave him something to help him. Hes not doing to good, did you know that Mitka?" The way he had pronounced her name gave her chills; she didnt bother moving away from him, but she noticed how her heart seemed to stop once he had sat down next to her.
The fact that Will wasn't doing good didn't really hit her until that moment and she glanced into the eyes of the devil. Was he trying to get at her? Was he trying to find a way in.... "Really?" She continued to read him, to soak him in, and in a way she hoped it scared the hell out of him. She prayed that deep down she would make him afraid of being caught, but she knew better than that. She knew better than to lie to herself.
"Yes, he is...losing his mind, quite literally Mitka." Hannibal's eyes just continued to stare back never blinking. "he is asleep for right now, and I'm going to continue to help him...I do not think he should go back out into the real world any time soon." The sentence hit her deep and she clutched at the blanket her eyes darting to the door before going back to his.
"What? Why?" Was all she could say, and she knew...she knew something had happened while she was asleep..she knew damn well that something wasn't right at all.
"He killed both of the officers last night Mitka."
"He killed the officers?" Her voice seemed to lose itself at the end of that sentence and she could feel her heart shredding into a thousand pieces...because she knew it had to be a lie. Will couldn't do that, he wouldn't do that....he wasn't that kind of person. She tried to search the man's eyes for any other answers...for a weak spot. She had always been good at telling other's emotions, but she knew better than to fool herself into thinking that this monster in front of her experienced emotions.
"Yes." His lips tightened into a line and his eyes finally moved from hers to the door. "He killed both of the men, I had to call and explain to Jack that Will had a mental breakdown." He put both hands on his lap before glancing back at her, there was something about the way he was sitting that showed how tired he was. "I didn't mention the officers, but I guess that's just another reason why we need to keep Will maintained."
