Chapter 9: Peter's promise

Judas.....

     All the other disciples thought that he just went out because Rabbi told him to buy something, since his the one who holds the group's money. But he can't fool me! I saw it! I saw it on his eyes, as I grabbed his arm earlier, I saw that he's up to no good! 

     We prepared for the supper, Jesus sits on the middle and then he gets a bread and broke it in half. He lifted it up, then he said; 

"This bread, is my body. Given for you and broken..for all of you." Jesus then gave it to us. "Eat it." He said.

     We ate the bread that Jesus broke in half. After that, he pour a wine on a cup, again he lifted it up and said;

"This is my blood, my blood that was shed for you." He gave it to us then he said, "Drink it." At this moment, Jesus looks so.....I..I can't pick up a the right word to say, but all I know is Rabbi's emotions seems to be on a turmoil.

"Do this." He said, "In remembrance of me." He looked at us, as if something bad will happen tonight, a few more seconds later Jesus spoke again, "Children I'll be with you for a little while longer." What? What does Jesus means!?

"Tonight all of you will leave me." His eyes turned sad then he added, "Tonight, all of you will turn your bask againts me."

"No LORD! WE WILL GO WITH YOU!" James said. Jesus stands up and said, "You can't go where I'm going." Then he went out of the room.

     No! Loose faith in him? no way! I'll never leave Jesus! I stand up and follow him outside. "Rabbi!" Said I. "I will not leave you! Never will I turn my back againts you!" I walk close to him then I said, "I will gladly give up my life for you Rabbi." He smile then he hugged me.

     Never will I be afraid again. I still remember that night. It was raining and we are on the middle of the sea, while our boat was being tossed by huge waves. The twelve are complete at the boat and we are with Mary Magdalene. But Rabbi was not with us, he said that he will meet us at the other side.

"Pete! I'm afraid!"

"Damn it John! we are fisher men. Were not afraid of waves!" I shouted to John.

"OH, I forgot." He replied. Then the waves beggins to be more gigantic that it can devour our boat. That time I just pretended to be brave. The truth is I am as scared as hell.

"If Jesus is here this wouldn't happen! He will just command the sea to be still! Where is he when we needed him!" Judas said.

     A few more minutes, Thomas shouted, "A GHOST! A GHOST!" We looked at the direction where Thomas is looking. Then we saw a silhoutte, it is a man standing at the sea. When we see the silhoutte creeps crawled upon my body.

"I..it's a ghost.." I whispered.

"Pete what will we do!" Said John, but as I remeber I became speechless that time.  Suddenly, the "ghost" said, "Don't be afraid." I heard his voice, it is cleared as if his whispering on my ear. It is JESUS! He...he is just stepping in to the waves! he are so afraid of that waves, but him! he just put it under his feet! The thing that were most afraid of is Jesus's footstool right now!

"I AM JESUS." And I'm right! it's Jesus. I went near at the bow of the boat then I shouted, "LORD! IF IT IS YOU! I WANT TO DO THE SAME! I DONT WANT TO BE AFRAID!" 

"Peter what are you doing?!" Mary said, 

"LORD! ASK ME TO WALK OUT TO YOU!"

"PETER ARE YOU CRAZY!" John said.

"PETER! YOU'LL DROWN!" 

"PETER ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND!"

     Yes maybe I'm out of my mind, but...it's Jesus who's all I see at that moment! I waited for Jesus answer untill he said, "Come." He said. I took a deep breath then I first step out of the boat. I first step my right foot to the water, then my left foot. And then, I can't believ that right at that moment, I'm actualy putting the thing that I'm afraid of under my own feet. Then I took the first step, second, third...and then I heard a loud thunder, infront of me I saw a huge wave. That moment I became afraid. "You'll surely drown!" That is the voice I heard inside my head, then I sank, but before it I was able to yell at Jesus, I shouted, "LORD SAVE ME!" I sank at the sea but then, I saw his hand hold mine. Then he said, "Peter, you of little faith. Why do you doubt?"

"Peter.." He said, "I say Amen to what you said.." He was still hugging me, then he said, "But tonight, this very night....You will also fall away. You will deny me three times, before the rooster crows." What is he saying? Even me will fall away? NO! I will follow him! I will follow Rabbi to the very end of the world! 

     Rabbi looked at me, then he touched my cheek, he said, "Call the others, tonight we will pray. We will go to the garden."
