"Gryffindor!" The sorting hat yelled out, and the new Gryffindor member came to join our table.
Fred, George, and I got to the Great Hall moments before the sorting ceremony started and we took our normal places at the Gryffindor table.
"What house do you guys think Harry Potter is going to be in?" Fred asked me and George. "I'm betting on Slytherin."
"I'm going to go with..." I looked around at all the tables, and thought about what house I thought would fit him more. "Gryffindor. Slytherin was the house of he-who-must-not-be-named, so think its only fitting that he's in the house with the rivalry against Slytherin."
"I'm have to agree with Ceyla over here. Gryffindor probably would be the best place for him." George said to us.
"Of course its the best choice for him! Its because I said it was!" I told George, putting my hands on my hips and smiling.
"Whatever you say, say-say!" George replied.
"Ugh... Stop calling me that!" I whined.
"Nope. Not going to happen." George said, not bothering to look at me when he said it. Instead he was watching as two more first years were sorted into Gryffindor.
Finally, the moment we were all waiting for had arrived: the sorting of Harry Potter.
"Harry Potter!" Professor Mcgonagall yelled out, catching every single person in the Great Hall's attention.
The young boy walked over to the stool, and waited for the hat to be placed on his head.
Professor McGonagall went over to the boy and placed the sorting hat on his head, seemingly untouched by who he was.
It seemed as if the young boy was having a conversation with the hat. Minutes passed by, and the boy had yet to be placed in a house.
"Not Slytherin eh?" Was all I heard the hat say before the kid was placed in a house.
"GRYFFINDOR!!" the hat yelled.
Everyone at the Gryffindor table, including me, stood up and cheered. We definitely had to be the loudest table.
"We got Potter! We got Potter!" Fred and George yelled out into the great hall as Percy, the prefect and oldest Weasley at Hogwarts, stood up and shook the boy's hand.
"Welcome to Gryffindor Harry!" I yelled over the cheers.
"Thanks!" He yelled back, looking happier than ever.
Finally, it was Ron's turn to be sorted into a house. I crossed my fingers and prayed to Merlin that he would be sorted into Gryffindor. It was highly likely considering his entire family is and has been in Gryffindor. The poor boy was very green in the face at this point.
McGonagall placed the hat on his head, and it took less than 30 seconds for him to be sorted into:
"GRYFFINDOR!"
Harry stood up along with the rest of us and cheered and clapped. Ron sat down in the chair beside Harry looking extremely tired.
"Well done, Ron, excellent." Percy told his younger brother.
McGonagall stood, rolled up the scroll she had in her hands, picked up the hat, and left the Great Hall.
Professor Dumbledore stood up and have his yearly 'welcome' speech before sitting back down.
"Let the feast begin!" He yelled out as the golden plates in front of us began to fill themselves with food.
We began to stuff our faces with food, when Fred decided to try and be funny.
