"Well what have we here?"
My eyes opened immediately at the sound of the voice and I looked up to see the person I least expected standing before me.
"Dad?!?" I screeched, waking up George from his peaceful sleep.
George jumped and hit his head on the wall and I jumped to my feet, shocked that my dad was standing before us. Somehow, Fred had managed to stay asleep after my screech.
"It's not what it looks like!" I shouted at him.
"And what exactly does it look like Ceyla dear?"
"Umm..." I was at a loss of words for that point.
Of course I figured that he was thinking something was going on between George and I, but that was not the case, and I didn't want to put the thought in his head if he didn't already think it.
"Ceyla, I was just coming to say good morning and I'm sorry for not being at King's Cross to see you off. But now I'm here!" He smiled very widely.
"Wait." I said as a question popped into my head. "What are you doing here?"
"Well," he started, "Professor Snape had some business to take care of, and Dumbledore asked me to take over for the days he's going to be gone."
"But dad, you work in the ministry, what are you doing teaching?"
"Well I'll have you know that I was the best in my potions class." He said putting a hand on his hip and smiling.
"Actually I didn't know that, but whatever." I said.
"Okay well I have to go now kids or I'm going to be late!" He said as he ran off waving crazily at us.
George, Fred, and I exchanged looks before we headed to breakfast in the great hall.
I love my dad, and I've always had an awesome relationship with him. We would always go to quidditch games, muggle football and baseball games, concerts, and all kinds of activities.
I remember one concert, my first one actually, and my dad took me to see the Weird Sisters. I remember that I couldn't see anything, so my dad put me up on his shoulders so I could see. After the concert was over, he took me to the booths and bought me two shirts and a poster. On the ride home, we stopped for ice cream. He wound up dropping his and having to get another one. We got home around two in the morning, and thank Merlin my mom wasn't awake, or she probably would've killed us for being put so late!
That has to be probably my favorite memory I have with my dad, and there's no changing it. I used to get made fun of because I was very close to my dad and how we always made fools of ourselves in public, but I learned to brush it off because family is what really matters.
"So having your dad around the school for a while should be interesting." George laughed. "How much trouble are we going to get in?" He asked me.
"None! If anything, he would probably join us! He's really lenient about that kind of stuff. Now if my mom was here, it would be a different story."
I shuddered at the thought of having my mom at school with us. While my dad is childish and a kid at heart, my mom is very strict. She's really nice, but if rules are broken or I do something I'm not supposed to, she's there and scolding. I love my mom, but I get along better with my dad. We always find a way to do stupid things together. Better than doing them alone I guess.
"Well I guess we should be happy your mom isn't here instead of your dad." Fred said with a grin on his face.
"Yeah, we should." I said with a dead serious look on my face.
The three of us then burst into laughter as we walked into the great hall, earning us a few glares and weird looks from our fellow classmates.
We took our seats at the Gryffindor table, and just in time for the mail to be delivered. Fred and George watched as I opened the treats that I got weekly from my mom. This time it was brownies. They already knew that I was going to share with them. It had been that way since the beginning of our time at Hogwarts.
I passed the two boys a brownie, and they immediately scarfed then down.
"Your mom is an amazing baker." George said, letting out a burp after he was done talking.
"Yeah what he said." Fred said after he was done with it.
"Yeah she's pretty amazing at everything she does involving food."
That wasn't a lie. My mom is an amazing cook, and when I was little, I asked if she had been a house elf who worked at Hogwarts turned into a witch. She took offense to that, but she got what I meant considering I was really little. I just meant that she was a really good cook who must've worked at Hogwarts.
Suddenly, a package was dropped beside Neville, and he opened it, excited to see it's contents.
"It's a remembrall!" Neville told us, and he said something else, but my focus was taken on Malfoy approaching the table.
Malfoy walked right past neville and managed to grab the crystal figure out of his hands. Ron and Harry were already to their feet ready to defend Neville, but McGonagall passes by at just the right moment.
"What's going on here?" She asked, eyeing Malfoy.
Neville told her the situation, and Malfoy dropped the ball back onto the table.
"Just looking." He smirked as he stalked away with Crabbe and Goyle hot on his trail.
"I despise that child. He's disgusting a rude and ugh." I complained as I stabbed the waffle in front of me out of fury. "He bullies everyone he views as lower than him, which is pretty much everyone I mind you. He's a jerk, and even worse, the professors don't so anything!"
In that moment I had thrown my fork, which flew right past Fred's ear, leaving him horror-struck with a look or mortal terror on his face.
"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry Fred!" I exclaimed and I jumped out of my seat and ran over to him making sure he was okay.
"Geez Ceyla, I get that you don't like the kid but no need to take it out on your best friend!" He laughed.
I giggled and George glared at Fred.
"Who said that you're her best friend? I'm obviously her best friend!" He argued.
Fred and George got up from the table with their stuff, still arguing, heading to class, and I trailed behind them, smiling as they continued bickering all the way there.
Should I start making the chapters longer? Let me know what you think in the comments.
