She hissed at the guards as they pushed her into the room at the end of the castle. Not that she felt any pain, but her ego was sure getting a beating. She should have been used to this treatment by now. The manhandling, sneers, and over all rudeness of this legendary pack.

The Dunamis pack was well known throughout their world. No wolf pack dared cross the boundaries this vicious group had set for itself. The monstrosity the usually calm wolves were capable of was one of myths. Known but not seen. To outsiders they were to be left alone. You could not be included into the pack. One must be born in. For centuries the rule held true.

Until her.

“What sort of havoc has my pretty little Mariska been up to?”

Her head snapped up, having just noticed the domineering man sitting at the table in front of her. Of course he wasn’t looking at her, instead staring down at what looked to be a map.

She glared at the mocking way he had used the word little. “Oh nothing. Planning your death as usual.” She said her tone bored, her eyes breathing fire.

The man finally looked up, a strange smirk on his face. One she couldn’t read. “You would do best to remember your place pup.”

She rolled her eyes then. How dare he? How dare he! Speaking to her as if she was some little new born and not someone who could rip out his throat. She took a deep breath, choosing not to react to the horrible beast in front of her, instead studying him intensely.

The beautiful specimen in front of her frowned before turning back to his work. His beautifully sculpted face in  deep concentration. His blue/gray eyes focused on whatever was in front of him. He was intimidating, yes. What with being six feet of muscle and brawn, he could frighten even the scariest of wolves. He wasn’t the tallest of his pack, but he was the strongest. His muscular form barely fitting in the little chair he was occupying. He would have been the definition of monster, had it not been for the angelic face he had.

“Quit staring before I take you right here.”

She frowned. She wasn’t staring! She wasn’t! She was merely…studying. “Don’t flatter yourself beast.”

He sighed, something that sounded soft from others and vicious from him, and stood up slowly. “I grow tired of your insolence Mariska. Either speak civilly or go back to your cell.”

She barred her teeth. “The cell already occupied you mean?” At his questioning look, she smiled mockingly. “Ah yes, your intelligent guards decided to throw me in with the little puppy who dear Erida has set her claws on.” His eyes narrowed on the doors leading outside of his office, already planning the punishments for his guards. “Quite a charming little puppy. Seemed a bit,” She grinned at this. “infatuated with me.” Standing up, she grinned even wider. “Perhaps I should go back to my cell.”

Before she moved a step, she felt a heavy weight against her back, and heavy breath against her ear. “You dare speak of another male in front of your mate?” He growled.

She smirked at the Alpha male behind her. “Some mate you are. Throwing me in a cell with another male. Tisk, tisk Tobias, you are slipping.”

He growled, his chest vibrating against her back. “My patience is warring thin Mariska.” His strong calloused hand caressed her shoulders, his nose nuzzling her hair. With a vicious snarl he pushed her away, barring his teeth. “You stink of him.”
