The cashier was thanking Cole when Lydia, Scott and Derek sat down at the table with Stiles. “What just happened?” Lydia asked with a shocked look on her face.
“Cole casually stopped a stick up,” Stiles laughed.
“What?” Lydia asked in shock.
“Cole is a complete badass!” Stiles started, he continued explaining Cole’s life in Toronto like it was his own story and how he used his skill for good. The other three were shocked and didn’t know what to say. Cole then sat down at the table with them and smiled.
“So, Scott’s mom and Isaac…” Cole said breaking the silence.
“Right, what do I have to do?” Lydia asked. “Stiles get me a latte please?” Stiles nodded and grabbed the money out of Lydia’s hand and went to the cash.
“You need to find Peter,” Scott said.
“Ick,” Lydia made a grossed out face. “How am I supposed to do that?”
“You have a weird connection with him. Think hard,” Scott replied. Lydia closed her eyes for a few seconds and then opened them again. “Well?” Scott asked.
“Nothing,” Lydia said taking the latte from Stiles and Stiles sat down.
“Grab Derek’s hand,” Stiles suggested.
“Why?” Cole asked.
“Well she used Derek to bring Peter back to life. He is also Peter’s nephew,” Stiles explained.
“It couldn’t hurt,” Derek shrugged and held out his hand. Lydia grabbed it and closed her eyes.
“Oh,” Lydia said with her eyes closed.
“What is it?” Scott asked eagerly.
“I see words,” She said scrunching her face then she opened her eyes.
“What did they say?” Scott asked.
“They were too blurry,” She replied.
“What if you got closer?” Cole suggested and when everyone looked at him he shrugged his shoulders.
“Hug,” Stiles said sharply. Lydia wrapped her arms around Derek’s neck and he wrapped his around her lower back. Her face and hands started to twitch.
“It’s clearer but not fully there’s a symbol beneath the word,” Lydia said letting go of Derek.
“Kiss,” Cole laughed pressing his two index fingers together. Lydia shrugged and pressed her lips on top of Derek’s and a look of shock spread across everyone’s faces especially Derek. She opened her eyes and grabbed a napkin and an eyeliner pencil. She drew a weird symbol and wrote bank above it.
“Jeez what the hell is so special about that place? Everything happens there,” Stiles said sarcastically. Everyone got up to leave to go find Melissa and Isaac when Lydia stopped them.
“He has an army of humans,” Lydia said. “I don’t know how many but I think we need Allison. I have a plan: Stiles and I go actually get your mom and Isaac. Allison and Cole can work together with you guys and the twins to fight them off. We all know Cole can fight because of what he just did plus the bruises under that makeup of his.”
“That sounds like a good plan… wait bruises?” Stiles asked grabbing Cole’s face. “Is that what that cut is from? You got in a fight?”
“Well sort of… eight guys like jumped me…” Cole replied awkwardly. “Lydia is right though I can handle my own if it’s evenly numbered.”
“It’s settled then, we’ll head out tomorrow. Cole, you ask Ethan to help, Lydia ask Aiden and I’ll ask Allison.” Scott suggested and they all agreed.
“What weapons will you need Cole?” Derek asked.
“Knives and my fists,” Cole smirked as he made a fist and Derek laughed.
“I like this kid. Keep him around,” Derek said and got up. “Come on Lydia I’ll take you home.”
“Scott you can stay with me tonight,” Stiles said.
“Won’t your dad find out that my mom and Isaac are missing?” Scott said.
“He already knows something ‘wolfy’ happened so it won’t matter,” Stiles replied and the three of them hopped into Stiles’ Jeep. Once they got back to the sheriff’s house they found Cole’s mom lying on her stomach with her hands behind her back and the sheriff’s hand cuffs on her wrists along with the sheriff pressing her to the floor.
“Oh no,” Cole put his head in his hands. “Where is Lily?”
“I sent her into the other room don’t worry,” The sheriff replied and Cole ran to his little sister.
“You are a son of a bitch!” His mother yelled.
“Tanya, I’m going to ask you one more time to calm down.” The sheriff replied. The rest of the conversation was muffled out as Scott closed the door behind them.
“What is happening?” Scott asked.
“Stiles fill him in outside the door,” Cole said seriously and sat down beside his sister who was watching cartoons on sheriff Stilinski’s TV. When they walked back into the room Scott had a look of shock on his face. Cole could read the expressions on Scott’s face. Everything was falling into place in his mind.
“Cole I-I had no idea,” Scott said as he sat beside Cole.
“Yeah, and she still doesn’t,” Cole sighed looking at his little sister who was mesmerized by the TV. He knew his mother would get caught at some point. She was so dumb for doing that and getting into that. Cole wanted to blame his father for all of it, but he finally figured out it wasn’t his fault. He thought that maybe his mother brought this addiction onto herself and their dad left because of it. It didn’t excuse his father for leaving, or beating his son but it made Cole realize that technically his mom is a mother, but is she really a mom?
