The Dream

Violet suddenly woke up and found herself in her old bedroom she had had in the 1940's. She was a little confused, but she got out of bed and went to her closet. When she opened it, she found all of her old clothes in it.

"Maybe that was all just a bad dream?" Violet said to herself, as she picked a dress out and put it on.

She went to her mirror and fixed her hair up like she used to. She could smell Aunt Betty's cooking in the kitchen, and heard her sisters chatting in the living room.

She finished fixing her hair, and went out into the hall right as someone knocked. "I'll get it," She said, and went to the door.

When she opened it, she found Bucky waiting there. "Welcome home," She smiled, giving him a huge hug like she used to do every time he came to visit.

"Gosh I missed you!" He smiled, and swung her around. "Where are your sisters?"

"In the living room," She smiled, grabbing his hand.

They walked into the living room together to find their sisters all playing a small game of poker like they used to when Aunt Betty wasn't looking. They only made bets on little things like hair clips, lipstick and fingernail polish.

"Bucky!" They all smiled when he entered the room.

They all nearly knocked him over when they hugged and kissed him. "I hear my big army boy," Aunt Betty smiled, coming out of the kitchen.

"Hello, Aunt Betty," He smiled, giving her a hug and a kiss once he got free from his sisters.

"How have you been?" Aunt Betty asked.

"Pretty good," Bucky smiled. "I have a feeling the war is nearly over."

"Me too," Aunt Betty smiled, and brought him into the kitchen. "I've cooked some stew. Would you like some?"

Suddenly their voices began to fade and echo. Violet's eyes began to blur and she squinted, trying hard to see. She felt like she was falling backwards, she kept falling and falling, further and further away from her old home, her old time, her old everything.

She felt like it would never stop and after a while, she couldn't see anything until she suddenly stopped and found herself in a strange lab.

She saw Tony Stark (Iron Man) working on some sort of machine, with Clint Barton (Hawkeye) standing in the corner, looking at his arrows while Black Widow cleaned her pistol. There were many other people in the room as well, but Violet had never seen them before. Some were helping Tony and others were doing other things.

Violet looked to the right, and saw Katrina in a cage. Violet tried again and again to call out to her sister, but she couldn't say anything. She couldn't even move.

The door near Tony opened and Loki entered the room with Banner. Violet would have gasped if she could have, but she couldn't. She wished she could do something, but nothing happened.

"As you can see, we're making a death machine," Loki told him.

"What does it do?" Banner asked.

"This machine, my friend," Loki smiled. "Will help us take over this puny little world. Once we have this world, we may take any other planet we like. The machine will have become powerful enough by then."

"Yep," Tony smiled. "But it'll take about two more months. This is a big job."

"Take all the time you need as long as we stay hidden," Loki said. "But in the meantime... I'm going to have a little fun."

"What kind of fun?" Banner asked.

Loki looked over at Katrina and smiled. "I'm going to set her loose."

Violet's eyes began to blur again, and she started to fall forward this time. She landed hard on a flat surface made of concrete. She got up, but couldn't see anything around her.

Suddenly a small light appeared in front of her, and she could see her sisters, Josh, Anthony, Steve, Thor, Sam and Peter talking with each other. She got closer to the small light, and listened.

"Where's Violet?" Michelle asked.

"She's taking a small nap," Bucky said.

"How can she be napping at a time like this?" Rachael glared. "She's lazy."

"She was tired," Peter said, trying to defend her.

"We're tired too," Rachael argued.

"If you're so tired, then why don't you take a nap too?" Anthony asked. "No one is keeping you from sleeping."

Rachael just rolled her eyes and looked away. "If you're tired you can lean on me," Josh said to Rachael, and she did.

Katie saw them, and decided to lean on Steve's shoulder as well, but surprisingly, he pushed her off. She glared at him, and to everyone's astonishment, smacked him.

Violet thought that this couldn't really be what was happening, because Steve and Katie would never do that to each other. She realized that this was a dream and it was trying to tell her something, but what?

She listened again. "What's wrong with you?" Freya glared.

"What's wrong with you!?" Michelle glared back at Freya.

"Everyone just shut up!" Sam shouted.

Violet didn't know why they were being so mean to each other, but before she could listen to any more, it disappeared and she could hear a voice.

"Violet," The voice echoed. "Violet."
