Less than a week after Daniel made the decision to move to Beacon Hills, I was enrolling in school, and only slightly more enthusiastic than I was when I found out about the move.

The idea of tormenting this pack appealed to me, especially since almost everything I had done up to this point had been under Daniel's close supervision. School still seemed like a terrible idea, considering I hardly knew anything school related. Torture was probably the only subject I could get an A in.

"Here," Daniel said when we walked out of the office with my new schedule. He shoved a piece of paper into my hand.

"Scott McCall, Kira Yukimura, Lydia Martin, Malia Tate, and Liam Dunbar," I recited. "These are the wolves?"

"You won't believe it, but only two of them are wolves. I asked around. They even have humans in their pack, but they're not on the list. You don't need to worry about them."

"This is going to be easier than I thought," I shoved the paper into my back pocket.

Daniel gave me a hesitant look, almost suggesting that he was worried. "Let's go home," he said loudly. "You need a good night's sleep before school tomorrow."

"You don't expect me to do well, do you?" I asked, heading to the front doors.

"I expect you not to get kicked out, darling. You'll be our only eyes on the inside, and we need you there."

I held the door for him, and he breezed by me, letting his long coat brush against my leg.

"So, what's the game plan?" I inquired. "Who do we kill first? Do we go with the weaker links or do we head straight for Scott and leave them without direction?"

Annoyed, Daniel climbed into the front seat of his small, red car. He never liked me to ask questions, especially when he didn't have an answer.

"I don't know who we'll be killing first, darling, as I have yet to see them in action. I want to keep the other Betas and myself out of it as long as possible, to avoid early conflicts, so I'll have you corner them individually, starting with Scott tomorrow, to assess their skill levels."

His calm British accent let me relax in my seat. I was ready for a fight, and I was ready for a kill.

When Daniel drove me to school the next morning, he went over everything again. He reminded me, even though I was only a sophomore, to try to focus on Scott, and instructed me to avoid contact with the other members of the pack.

Walking back through the front doors, I soon realized that I set my expectations for maiming and killing a little too high. I soon came to realize that I had to do homework, and study, and take pop quizzes. And even worse, people talked to me. They asked me where I was from, and why I moved so late in the year. I couldn't figure out if I hated the students or teachers more.

By the time lunch rolled around, I felt that I was fighting a losing battle, and I didn't even know who my enemy was. I checked the names on the list over and over, as if they would suddenly change, or as if it would help me form an image of what any of them even looked like.

The worst part about the entire situation was when I was forced to discover that I was awkward! Grabbing my lunch tray up from the counter, I spun around and crashed into an unsuspecting stranger, who dropped all his books.

He sighed and started picking them up, and looked at me as if expecting me to help or apologize. I certainly wasn't about to, and would have walked away if I hadn't noticed the name scribbled inside one of the books.

"Scott McCall," I mumbled.

"That's me," he said, standing up. He was silent for a moment, as if expecting me to say something else, and then his eyes widened, like he had finally realized he was in the presence of another wolf.

I stared him dead in the eye, wishing I could make his head explode just by looking at him. I knew Daniel expected me to wait until after school, but my cover was already blown, and he was just so close that I could reach out and-

"I gotta go," he said quickly, zooming away.

The rest of the school day was a doozy. I sat silently at my desk, imagining myself sinking my teeth into Scott's bones. I could hardly wait to find him after school. It felt like I had waited a lifetime when the school bell finally rang.

I was the first one to jump out of my seat, storming into the hallway, following Scott's scent to his locker. I stayed out of sight, but I could tell that he knew I was there by the way he lifted his nose and looked around, forcing me to duck behind the corner.

He was cautious as he walked out of the school, expecting me to approach him at any minute. I had to follow from a distance so I could get him far enough away from the school to kick his ass.

I rolled my eyes when I saw him get into a car, realizing I would have to chase after him, most likely to a destination of his choosing. It would be harder to attack him if he went home, but I was more than ready.

I ran after his car for only about ten minutes, and was surprised to see him pull into a wide alley between two desolate buildings. I stayed around the corner, watching him get out of the car.

"You can come out now!" He yelled.

I smirked, knowing that I wasn't the only one to come prepared.

His back was facing me as I walked out of the shadows, and he whipped around when he heard my footsteps.

"Scott McCall," I clucked. "What an honor to be in the presence of a true Alpha."

"Omega?" He asked, standing defensively.

"Beta," I flashed my blue eyes.

"You've taken lives."

"And I'm here to take more," I told him, coming close enough to push him into the wall, and putting my claws on his chest.

He swatted my hand away, and took hold of both my wrists. I felt warm blood pumping through my veins. It was the feeling I got when I fought. It was the feeling I got when I knew I would win.

"You're strong," I breathed out, pushing back on his hand to make him punch himself in the face. "But you're not very smart." He stumbled back, and I took the opportunity to pin him to the ground. "You know what, Scott? I have a list in my back pocket. To you, it would look like a list of your pack members, but to me it's just a kill list. Who should I start with? How about Kira Yukimura? Or Lydia Martin?"

"You hurt either one of them, and you'll have me to answer to," Scott tried to push me off.

"I look forward to it," I smiled. "But I think I'll start with Liam Dunbar. He's the Beta, right?"

Scott gave me a throaty growl, and before he could have the opportunity to push me off of him, I jumped up and took off running.
