Happiness

Lauren pov:
I felt the wind rush through my hair, allowing it to blow on my face.
I didn't know where I was running, but I just needed to be alone.

"Lauren!" A familiar male voice calls out.

I turn my head to find Nick chasing after me.
What the hell? I thought, as his baby blue eyes meet mine.

"Where are you running to?" He asks me.

I gulp, not knowing what to say.
"Away from my problems." I reply.

He sighs.
"I know iv'e been hard on you, but please, just trust me."

I just violently shake my head.
"I-I can't." My voice comes out to a mumble, as I feel the salty tears strolling down my face.
I start to run back, when I hear Nick shout in the distance.

"What would Daniel say about this?" He shouts.
Daniel. My first love.

"What did you just freakin say?" I shout, walking toward him.
He just sighs.

My eyes fell wide open, my heart pounding.
"Daniel and I were old roommates in college." He began, my heart still ferociously beating.

"We got along well, but he'd always talk about this girl."
"I forgot her name, but he mentioned green eyes."

I bit my lip, standing their in confusion, and heavily breathing.
"Only now did I realize he was talking about you the whole time."
"The girl I helped rescue from a masked man."

I close my eyes, waiting for the pain to go away.
"He never did call me." I whisper, loud enough for Nick to hear me.

"In the end, he moved on."

"You sure did, to." He says, making me bite lip.

"I loved him you know."
"Never forgot about him." I whisper.

Nick just stares into my eyes.
"He told me that you loved to sing, and your eyes lit up when you're happy."
"If you come back with me in that room, trust me, you'll be happier."

Since when did happiness become a priority?

I nod my head.
"I just needed time to think, that's all."

I turned towards the large building, as I suddenly saw Zayn chasing after us.
"Lauren, I-I'm sorry..."

"It's okay." I cut him off with a smile.
I grasped his hand with mine, as Nick led us back inside.

"I just needed to think." I smile.

I glanced at Nick a few times.
I wonder if he can contact Daniel?
I've never stopped loving him
What about Zayn?

What about my happiness?
