Emily’s POV

I couldn’t.

I couldn’t stay mad at him.

He sounded like he was on the verge of tears.

“I believe you,” I whispered into the phone, so quiet I could barely hear myself.

“What?” A hint of excitement in his voice

“I believe you,” I repeated, slightly louder

“Oh my god, I don’t know what to say,” Neither did I to be honest, once again I was speechless. “Oh babe, I have to go.”

“Okay, bye.”  Honestly, I felt like a huge weight had been lifted after I had forgiven him. It was exactly one week till the boys were back, Meaning two weeks away from Christmas! I needed to get a few last minute presents. Tomorrow it is.

Lauren’s POV

I was standing out in the kitchen getting something to eat when Emily surprisingly came out of her room. “Morning,” she said as you got herself a glass of orange juice, “Morning? You seem very chirpy, well in comparison to this past week.”

“Yep, things are sorted, we’re going last minute Christmas shopping today, everything will be great! So go get dressed and be ready for shopping.” Wow, someone was, awake.

I ran into my room as she gave me a disapproving stare as I was still in the kitchen. I quickly got changed, pulling on my big khaki coat to keep me warm, I couldn’t believe it was the middle of December already.

Emily’s POV

We were walking around town looking through shops, buying bits and pieces. “Hi!” We heard from behind us, we turned to face two teenage girls smiling at us. They asked how they boys were and how I was feeling about the whole Maisie situation. They were really sweet girls. I got Niall a few more extra little presents and Lauren got Harry some.

...

Lauren’s POV

I was counting down the days until the boys were back; it felt like years since I had seen Harry. I couldn’t wait for him to be home. “Do anything special with Harry tomorrow?” Emily asked as we were sprawled out across the sofa, “I dunno, he’ll probably be tired and they get back at like seven, are you doing anything with Niall?”

“Well I think we need to have a proper chat, I need to apologise to him for not believing him in the first place.” She was right; I did feel bad for Niall. I managed to get tomorrow night off work.

...

It was the morning the boys got back, I went to Refoveo as always. “Hey Lauren! How are you?”

“Hey Jake, I’m really good thanks you?” He turned round to make my drink, still carrying on the conversation. “Any reason in particular? Yeah I’m good thanks.”  I slid my change across the counter and he handed me my drink over the counter. “Yeah, Harry comes back today!”

“Oh, your boyfriend right?”

“Yeah, that’s him.” I walked over to my usual table and drank my drink. “Can’t wait to see you later babe, missed you so so much, and you get all your birthday presents x”

“I can’t wait to see you either, hope you have a safe flight, I have missed you so much, can’t wait for them either, see you later x”

...

Emily’s POV

“You excited? Only like an hour left till they get here” Lauren said as she fell back onto the sofa. “Yeah bit nervous,” She nodded clearly understanding why. Me and Lauren cooked dinner ready just before the boys were meant to be home, when I saw me and Lauren cooked, I mean I cooked and Lauren stood in the kitchen getting in the way. Lauren’s phone started going off, she clearly knew it was Harry as she sprinted to the coffee table, I had never seen her run so fast. I heard her mumbling into her phone but was trying not to burn dinner. She came rushing back over after a few minutes, “They’ll be here in about twenty minutes!” She had the biggest grin on her face, she was so excited bless her. The closer and closer it got the more nervous and excited I got. I was just setting the table when the door buzzed, ”I’ll get it!” Lauren screamed, running to the door.

Lauren’s POV

“Yo we are back!”

“Right okay Harry,” I buzzed them up and left the apartment door slightly open. After a few minutes  I heard loud faster footsteps but before I could turn around Harry had already grabbed me from around the waist and started spinning me. “Hello stranger!” He called even though I was pressed up against him. “Hi!” I turned to face him, giving him the biggest kiss. One I had needed this whole month.

Emily’s POV

Niall greeted me with the biggest hug. I leaned up into his ear and whispered “I’m sorry,” he didn’t reply he just placed a soft kiss onto my lips. Beep, beep, beep, shit dinner! As I dished out dinner the others sat down at the table. We talked about their trip; I was clearly hoping no one mentioned the Maisie thing. I could the awkwardness at dinner between me and Niall, it was horrible, it shouldn’t be awkward between us.

...

After dinner Lauren and Harry went into her room and Niall and I went into mine. “We need to talk.” I stated as he jumped onto my bed. “Yeah, probably a good idea...”

“I’m sorry,” I join him on the bed sitting across from him.

“Emily its fine, I understand why you would believe that, I probably would have thought the worst when I first saw it.” He was being so nice, so understanding, which was making it worse.

“I am sorry though,” I started to tear up, I just felt so awful because I made him feel awful.

“I know, I know” he reached out and brushed the one tear that fell down my cheek away. I continued to cry as he pulled me onto his lap.

Harry’s POV

“Who was that from?” I pointed towards the huge basket full of presents and a huge-arse birthday card. “Oh, uh, from Sam.” She knew that this would annoy me, why couldn’t he just back off, just a card would’ve been fine. “Dick.”

“Harry!”

“What? He is,” She knew I was right. “Yeah, he is in the wrong but don’t be rude.”

“You know I don’t like him Lauren.”
