A normal day at school is a hurricane of emotions for me. I could go from hyper, happy and hilarious to hysterical, hungry and hurt in under a minute. And school is 360 minutes long. (Yes, I count down) so I could do that same emotion loop over 360 times, which in my mind, seems easily possible. I walk into school, looking around to make sure there weren't any snobby "popular"s, so that I could actually act normally. Desperately, I search the school's hangout spot for my group of friends. What if they aren't here? What if they've ditched me? Don't be stupid, Emma, they don't care enough even to think about ditching you. They just let you hang around because you don't start shit. I finally spot them, standing right outside the football fields. I smile and walk towards them but a couple of boys kicked out their legs, to try to trip me up. I spot it quickly and anxiously looked to my right where they were leaning against the wall. "Back again aye, Faggot?" The first boy laughed and the other copied. He had black hair gelled up in different directions and cruel eyes that judged everything I do. He was at least double my height. "I thought you'd never come back by the way you snitched on us to that guy," he snarled and threw his thumb towards the headmaster's office.
A week earlier, him and his huge group of bullies had followed me to the end of my road when I was walking home, talking as loud as they could about me so I could hear. I came home and cried alone in my bedroom and eventually my mother found out and obviously told the school.
"Why aren't you talking, bitch?" He whispered viciously, "Eh!?"
"I have nothing to say to you." I stood my ground but felt my hands shaking so clenched them.
"Alright, alright. But, I have to ask, why have you not stuck up for yourself? Given me a little threat? A little kick in the shins?"
"I don't..." I started to explain.
"You're weak. That's why. You're pathetic. You're absolutely pathetic," he stared right into my eyes, "and you're alone."
I swallowed nervously and blinked away a couple of tears that threatened to fall. The two boys grinned and laughed as I walked away and towards my group once more, folding my arms over my chest awkwardly.
One of my closest friends of the group, Holly, smiled sweetly and said excitedly, "Hey Emma!" I smiled back at her.
"Ahh guess who's the new kid?" She asked the whole group, wide eyed and her blonde straight hair bouncing everywhere.
"I dunno. Who?"
"I've heard it's a guy!"
"Nah I've heard it's just another popular."
"Let's be honest, why should we care?"
"Do you want to know or what?" Holly grumbled impatiently.
"Sure go ahead." I interrupted everyone's bickering.
"Millie Carter!"she squealed which immediately made the whole group gasp and squeal with her. All I could think of was great. Another snobby girl I can be awkward around.
