"Honey! Come inside, look what's on the wiznews," shouted my mum from inside. The wiznews is basically the news about what's going on in the wizard world. We rushed inside to see my mum sitting on the sofa in front of the TV. On the screen was a video of the nuclear reactor in Japan exploding and just before it exploded there was a tiny dot beside it that appeared out of nowhere and then just like that disappeared. We paused the TV when the dot appeared and we zoomed in. The face was blurry but we could all tell who it was. The leader of the Dark Ones, Chronox.
A few days later we got a call from the wizard army, who were fighting the Dark Ones, and that my dad was going to have to join the army. The Dark Ones had grown stronger during the last few months and the army needed more wizards that were above the age of 15 to join the army. Unfortunately this meant my dad had to go to the army as well. The next day my dad started to pack his things and at night, a large truck came to collect him. The truck looked pretty normal except for the fact that at the top it said 'Wizard Transport'
My dad's suitcases floated out from inside and were dropped into the back of the dull truck. My dad boarded and gave me a weak smile, trying not to cry. The truck backed out of our drive and raced down our road.
The next few weeks were rough without my dad. My mum had to get a job as a teacher for light breakers. Every day two or three children would come to our house and my mum would take them outside. There'd be some blasts of light coming through the curtains, after half an hour to an hour they would both come back inside and talk about what they had learnt. Soon there would be a knock at the door and the child would walk out with whoever had come to pick him or her up.
I walked downstairs just as a knock came from the door. I opened the door and outside was a girl with black hair flowing down from her head. Her eyes were a deep brown which sparkled like a star. She was wearing an exo t-shirt that matched her eyes and had an attack on titan bracelet on her right wrist.
"Hi, I'm Katherine," she said as she smiled.
"I'm Ben," I said in a brave voice, "are you here for the light breaking lessons?"
"Yeah, I only just turned twelve seven weeks ago."
"Really? Me too! What discipline you choose?"
"I chose light breaking, that's why I'm here for light breaking lesson, silly" said Katherine as she laughed. "What about you?"
"Well, I'm an elemental and a light breaker."
"Alright. Sorry I'm late," said my mum, walking down the stairs.
"Ahh, Katherine. Come with me."
My mum walked out into the garden and Katherine followed.
