After class, Mollie decided to examine the messages and calls that she could've gotten from Nathan, but she hasn't heard anything from him. Then, she thought that she should surprise Nathan because his class always runs a little longer than Mollie's. She wanted it to be a complete surprise. So, as she had all eyes on her phone and no eyes on where she was walking herself, Mollie eventually looked up and stop walking at the same time. And instead of her surprising Nathan, he was already standing in front of her. They looked at one another's retinas and smiled.
"Hey," Mollie said as she put her phone away in her back pocket of her jeans.
"Are we walking and texting?" Nathan responded with slight concern as well as sarcasm.
"Yes, but it's not as much fun as it is to walk and talk." So, Mollie put her arm around Nathan's and they began to stroll down the hallway together.
"So Mollie, I need to speak with you about what we talked about on our first date," Nathan didn't want to startle Mollie, so he started out slow.
"Oh. . . . . .okay. When did you have in mind?"
"I was thinking about tonight. My place, perhaps? You've never been there before and I suspect you want to see it." Nathan knew exactly what he was doing. He was really to pull himself together and tell his love the truth.
"Of course. That'd be delightful. See you tonight."
"Bye, Mollie. I'll pick you up at 7:30." By the time their colloquy was done, they split up to their lockers, which were not a far distance from one another.
Mollie kept on thinking about what she had asked for a month ago, and how unstable she had become for those first few weeks after their first date. After some deep consideration, and remembering her experience with Nathan as his vampire self. Fangs. Blood. Hurting of innocent people. Mollie realized what she tried to get herself into, and she was petrified of what damage she could do to people's lives. She doesn't want to be a vampire, Mollie just wants to be with her love, Nathan. She doesn't want anything to do with being a vampire, and that was her final decision.
