Poor Fungus Boy wasn't hugged very much,

Everyone was afraid of a single touch.

For if they dared to do so when they saw him so lonely,

A deathly fungus would spread up their body,

Engulf them in black and brown and green

And they'd suffocate and die no matter how much they screamed.

So Fungus Boy lived in his solitary bubble,

Until one day he went to school and found only rubble.

A hand was sticking out at the top of the pile,

But Fungus Boy still hesitated a while.

For he wanted to help, it was something he'd love...

Then he noticed the hand was wearing a glove!

So he stepped right up, deciding to give it a whirl

And out of the rubble he pulled Cheese Girl.

An instand connection between them was made

And before he thought, the boy touched her face.

As he recoiled, horrified, the fungus began to appear

But instead of suffocating her it stopped before reaching her ear.

For the girl made of cheese could not be harmed by this fungus,

Instead she flourished like none other among us.

Once this had sunk in it gave them such bliss,

And Fungus Boy and Cheese Girl shared their very first kiss.
