Hey guys~
This is my first public go at fanfiction. Usually I'm just writing on my Notes app or pieces of paper in my secret notebook lol. I thought maybe it's time for me to share my ShiZaya love with the world haha. Hope you enjoy!

Chapter 1
Izaya

A loud crash echoed throughout the active city of Ikebukuro. Screaming followed after and road signs and vending machines flashed on the horizon.

This wasn't unusual. Most people in the city didn't pay much attention to it, just simply prayed none of their property was damaged. Those who were tourists or visiting were also immediately calmed down by those who lived nearby.

Izaya Orihara hopped off of a street sign and almost immediately, Shizuo Heiwajima ripped it from its base to attempt to strike the informant. Swiftly as always, Izaya dodged and escaped yet another one of Shizuo's attacks. This was normal for Izaya; the running, the attacks, the screaming- all of it. And he enjoyed it, maybe even began to like it, and Shizuo. Their battles had gotten to the point where he didn't even try to kill him. It was simply a more-than-average game of cat and mouse. Shizuo ran after Izaya with persistence, screaming his name in rage.

"A little slow today, aren't you Shizu-chan?" Izaya laughed mockingly as he dodged an aerial garbage can attack.

"I'M GONNA KILL YOU," Shizuo screamed, tossing blow after blow of various objects.

The two made their way towards a large bridge passing over the highway. Izaya hopped on the railing, internally giddy from the attention and adrenaline he was getting. Running along the edge, the wind blew in his face and cool winter air made his cheeks flush.

Suddenly he felt Shizuo's presence behind him, faster than he's ever seen him before.

Shit...I shouldn't have provoked him...

Izaya ran faster and tried to jump off the unstable railing but before he could, he felt a hand grab onto his ankle, which stopped him abruptly and he fell, toppling over the edge of the bridge. He clenched his eyes shut, expecting a harsh impact from the concrete and for Shizuo's wish to finally come true.

But nothing came. He was dangling in midair? No...

Izaya looked up and caught a glimpse of his ankle suspended from the bridge attack to Shizuo's arm. His eyes travelled all the way up to Shizuo's face and Izaya caught the sight of an unexpected expression.

Shizuo looked horrified, his eyes shine with terror. Why? Izaya had no idea. He thought his death was Shizu-chan's biggest wish. His mind was racing, trying to find any reason whatsoever that Shizuo would even think about sparing his life when it hit him.

He didn't want to become the monster Izaya had always claimed him to be.

He was remembering that Vorona girl's word's. He would spare Izaya's life for her.

Izaya's face flushed and he glared up at his current savior.

"I get it, Shizu-chan. But don't worry- you're not a monster. Vorona would be proud."

Shizuo's confused look made Izaya grimace in pain, but there was no cut. With a hesitant swiftness, he took his switchblade and sliced Shizuo's arm just enough to make him draw back and release Izaya's ankle.

"No!" He screamed and swiped in the air, attempting to grab any last part of his enemy that he could.

But Izaya plummeted to the ground like a stone.
