***11~Lilli
We laid on our backs for awhile after that, watching the clouds lazily wander by.
He occasionally said something witty or stupid, that cute little dork, but we mostly laid in silence.
After a while, he randomly blurted, "My mom is dying to meet you!"
I blinked a couple times and sat up.
"You already told your mom about me?" I asked, and his face heated up. "...after one day?"
"I... no! Yes! Maybe, oh God.."
I could feel my own face heat up as well and fumbled for words.
"Oh?" Is all I managed before cracking a smile.

I steeled myself and followed him, sweating nervously.
"Mason, is that you? Your room is a mess, young man," his mom called from the kitchen. He grinned sheepishly at me.
"Yeah, mom," he called, heading into the kitchen.
I followed him, and a nice looking woman was standing by the sink, washing dishes.
She didn't look like Mason at all, with her dark brown hair and light, honey colored skin.
Strange.
She turned around and stared for a minute, open mouthed.
"Lilli!" she said delightedly. I smiled.
"Miss Cordon!" I answered, hugging her.
Mason stood, confused.
"Your mom was head of our local track team," I reminded him.
Understanding dawned on his face.
"Please, stay for dinner, hon," she said, finishing up with the dishes.
I felt a tiny bit of hope swell up.
It'd be the first time I'd eaten with people as an actual family in ages...
