So we decided to play Good Cop, Bad Cop. A little old school interrogation. Although Eric did point out that, since Evan was not a prime suspect, it wasn't an interrogation, just an interview. Taking this in to consideration, I decided that it probably wasn't the best idea for Olivia to be bad cop, even though she had her heart on it.

"I just think it you might scare him a bit too much..." I explained.

"That's the idea isn't it?" she retorted. "To scare him in to telling us that Amaryliss is the killer?"

"We don't know Amaryliss is the killer," interjected Eric.

"Right," I said quickly, before Olivia could argue. "So I'll be bad cop, and Olivia will be good cop."

"And me and Eric can be witnesses," said Heather, who'd remained tactfully silent during the good cop/bad cop dispute. Smart girl. "I have one of those recorder things cops use."

"Where did you get that?" asked Olivia, narrowing her eyes.

"Being the cops daughter has it's perks," replied Heather, oblivious to Olivia's suspicious tone.

"Huh," said Olivia. She raised an eyebrow to me, but I shook my head minutely.  There was no way Heather's ownership of cop devices had anything to do with the murdering of cheerleaders. At least, I thought not.

Evan was, not surprisingly, unchallenging.

"I dunno, hot stuff," he said lazily when Olivia asked him when he last saw Joanna.

"Really?" I jumped in, all badass-like. "Because I saw you make out with her last week, at the bar,"

Evan was completely unashamed. "Yeah, that was some nice-" I cleared my throat.

"So you haven't seen her since then?" prompted Olivia.

"I've seen her most nights since then," said Evan with a roughish wink to Eric, who had to decency to look bemused.

"What about Sunday night? Did you see her then Evan?" I asked.

"Nah, she took off didn't she?"

I sighed. "Yeah, we got that far, thanks."

Evan put his hands up. "Woah, chill Brit Girl. Hey, you're pretty hot when you're mad..."

"Evan," said Eric in a warning voice. I glanced at him. He looked peeved. Heather caught my eye and mouthed "Amaryliss."

"Did you see Amaryliss on Sunday?" I said abruptly.

"Well duh," said Evan. "I always watch the cheerleaders practise."

"That's why theres never anybody to block for me," muttered Eric.

"After practise," said Olivia in her sweetest voice. "Did you see either of them then?"

Evan suddenly looked uncomfortable. "Joanna ran out of there with the rest of them, laughing all high pitched with the others."

"And Amaryliss?"

Evan rubbed the back of his neck, you know, the way guys do when they don't want to tell you something.
