Just "reviews" of anime that I'm currently watching, and top 10s. My reviews are more like my opinions on what has happened in the show, nothing really in depth about how it is from a critic's pov.
Before I start this, I wanted to mention the fact that I got the first volume the of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga. It was better in my opinion because it had a few more extra details.

This next anime review will be over one of my favorite anime ever. My third favorite to be exact.

First, I must say that I love this show so freaking much! I have about 100 picture just related to Akagami no Shirayukihime. (I don't have problems :3 . Totally not addicted to this show and manga.)
But out of all of the shoujo anime that I've seen, this is one of the two that I can safely call a masterpiece!
The stereotypical shoujo is based in a school, this isn't. There are a few that are in a fantasy world, like Zero no Tsukaima, but it actually doesn't have the normal stereotypes.
Zero no Tsukaima might be my main comparison, and Akatsuki no Yona as well. Both fantasy shoujo.
This main difference between Akagami no Shirayukihime (which I'll now call AnS to save time) and the other two is that it actually has no fighting, or very little, but nothing like war. It stays true to the normal shoujo type, no action, but is based in a world where it could happen.
There are struggles, but nothing like in a normal school shoujo, especially not in a fantasy action one.
Zero no Tsukaima had a lot of fighting, but it only made Saito seem stronger and Louise having little to no skill to add to the joke. (Spoiler alert) Louise hardly ending up being useful except for her Shadow magic discovered later on. (End of spoiler)
Akatsuki no Yona didn't make Yona really seem strong until the very end when she became good with a bow. Until then, she was almost useless.
Most shoujo have a female main and the guys help the girls.
This reason is why I like AnS: Shirayuki is an extremely strong female protagonist. Not physically strong, but she can still handle herself. Zen always tells her that she can rely on him, but what does she do, she continues on anyway to prove that she is worth being with Zen.
Shirayuki is one of the few female main characters is shoujo anime that can be considered a strong person. Yes, Yona is strong, but it wasn't truly developed until the end of the series. Shirayuki was made to be strong in the beginning. With her background, it makes sense.
She never knew her parents so she had to work very hard to live well, especially since she had to rely only on her grandparents, who she mostly likely had to help a lot.
But it is shown that her determination to be by Zen's side is what really made her strong. She was strong in the beginning, but her determination facilitated her growth.
If you haven't seen this, then... I don't know what you're doing with your life. Stop reading this and watch it right now. GO!!!
