Monstrous Choices

Prologue

     Kayla woke up with a start, she felt paralyzed, and for a second panic began to rise until she felt an arm tighten around her waist. She let out a sigh of relief and smiled at the arm. The owner of the arm groaned in her ear and she laughed quietly.

She turned her head towards the man next to her and pecked him on the nose. She did not expect him to wake up so fast and when he did she gasped a little. Staring into her golden eyes were a pair of dark brown ones. When Kayla was younger she never liked dark eyes, she always preferred blue or green. But when she looked in to those dark eyes she did not mind that they were so dark.

Percy Beckett was a special case, however. His eyes were filled with warmth and love and his hands were soft and his voice spoke with reason, as if everything he said was right. He always looked at Kayla with this sense of pride like he was so proud of the person she became. Even if he was just a puny human he was one of the wisest in the pack. He was in fact the alphas mate.

As Kayla stared at his face, trying to memorize every spec of imperfection, she noticed the scar rising from his skin. It crossed his left eyebrow to the corner of his eye almost catching his eyeball. She wanted the scar to go away, she wanted all the pain that he went through to go. He was the love of her life and watching him go about his day still a little shaken up was something she wanted to get rid of.

He smiled at her and she saw the chipped tooth when the scumbag punched him in the face, but instead of focusing on that she focused on the dimple that concaved in his cheek and how amazing he looked in the morning light.

"Hey Kay..." he whispered.

Shivers ran down her spine at the sound of his voice and a nagging voice in her head kept yelling to jump him again. She reached over to him and captured his lips with hers. She climbed on top of him and dug her fingers in his arms, he opened his lips just enough for her to prod her tongue inside.

His usual taste was so electrifying to the point where she wanted to spend her whole life kissing him, nothing else. But the moment soon ended when the bedroom door slammed open revealing a very overexcited Jake. When he noticed that they were in a heated moment he covered his eyes and screamed. Kayla and Percy both jumped and groaned in sync when all they saw was a blonde head screaming " my eyes my eyes."
