Judah hid her in a place only known to those who joined and people who joined either stay forever or end up dead. . A fight club for mythical creatures. Underground fighting like in any society was illegal and the mythical world was no different, but like the others, it doesn't mean nobody goes to it.

The animals that stay there were treated like slaves. Trained to be gladiators and tear every threat apart. It was a bad place to put a girl who needed to heal from the pain of the past.

Judah was all about having fun. He killed people for fun. He hypnotized them and manipulated them and made them follow his every command.

But he did something that he thought he would never do for the rest of his life. He cared for the little monster. He cared about her like a brother would care for a sister. She had been here for years now. She became one of the best gladiators in the club and the sponsors loved her for the money they received by the end of the night but Judah was about to crush their hopes. He was planning an escape for Kayla and him.

Kayla would fight tonight and that's where the plan will go into action. But something was off. He had a bad feeling about the fight tonight. Maybe it was a vampire thing but he could feel his skin crawl. Something was going to happen tonight, he thought with a nervous gulp.

Clearing his throat and smoothing out his shirt he slammed the door open to the cages. And opened the cage at the right.

He hissed in pain as his hand was beginning to sting from the scratch that was given to him just a few seconds ago. Why did he care about this thing again?

   --

Kayla glared at the restraints around her ankles and wrists. She was lethal and these wimps were scared shitless of the girl.

She growled at a passerby who thought it was a good idea to bump her shoulder. The guy looked around, alarmed and curious about the growler and when his eyes landed on a pair of menacing gold ones he cowered in fear.

   " I'm so s...s....sorry." He stammered.

Before she could bite him she was pulled roughly to the ring. She kept jumping from one creature to the next snapping her jaws at them restlessly.

She was shoved into the ring before she smelled him. Her nose twitches in irritation. Who the hell smelled this good in a place filled with people who didn't.

She sniffed the air once more. He smelled of fruits and shampoo and sweat. She wrinkled her nose and let out a quiet moan. She distantly heard the bell ring telling her to shift and fight, and with that she felt the wolf inside of her take over.

Her bones cracked into a new position and she let out a groan of satisfaction and someone in front of her gasped, which surprised her. For everyone knew she was a wolf. She could hear the poor humans heart begin to accelerate.

She opened her eyes and landed on a pair of brown ones. She saw the fear written all over them and something else she couldn't pinpoint. Something so foreign and abnormal.

And for some odd reason she felt this need to step down. She looked at the crowd and they all had sadistic grins painted on their faces. As if putting a puny human in the same ring as a vicious wolf was the best thing in the world.

She growled again, telling herself to just get it over with. But that smell kept messing with her words. Kept coming in waves and telling her to protect him. Alarms blared in her head, he was not Human. He was a siren, just what she needed. As she looked upon her opponent, she saw nothing but fear and confusion. Sirens were really good at acting. And this one was no exception, even though he did smell really delicious. She could just lay there and smell him all day and maybe claim him as hers and ride off into a sunset. But the truth came crashing down. And the sunset turned into a fireball hurdling towards her with the speed of lightning and she snapped at him.

      He whimpered.

     She smirked.

Judah could tell this is exactly what he was feeling earlier. The human they picked up was good at mind games. He was just a siren, Kayla took a couple down before.

He strolled towards the ring in a casual fashion, there was no need to drive attention to himself when he needed to get Kayla out of there. Or maybe he can have a little fun with the dreadful creature. He looked over at him and smirked. But that did not last because before he could register what happened. He was lying in his back clawing at the wolf on top of him, but the wolf ignored his nails and continued to press on to his rib cage.

He could hear some of his bones cracking under the pressure and he knew he had to think fast before she went to tear his chest a part.

" Kay Kay. It's me, Judah. You know, the one that trains you everyday. Your best friend." He look into her golden eyes and saw recognition pass them. She let go of him slowly, but had her teeth bared. He put up his hands in surrender.

Something about that creature made Kayla go wild. And Judah wondered whether that was a good thing or bad thing. Everyone stared at the creature. And the creature stared back at one person in particular. A shifting Kayla. One of the tree nymphs brought her a silky robe to wear when she shifted back to her human form.

------------------

She was beautiful.

      Shit.

How could he think a girl that turned into a wolf right in front of his eyes was beautiful.

But there was her soft skin with a a lot of scars here and there that littered her body like a map. And the fact that she had soft Carmel skin color and her hair was as red as the juiciest apple at the farmers market. Her eyes, her eyes were the ones that got Percy tongue tied. Her eyes were gold, they looked like they belonged in the mine field.

She looked at him curiously and snarled at him a couple times and that scared Percy. But before he could get a look at her human face the guy she attacked put an arm around her and stalked off to the exit.

Kayla decided, that siren was really good because she could not get her mind off of him. She looked towards Judah in the drivers seat. She's been in a car before for other fights. She also memorized all the fighting places and knew how to get there but they were not going the directions she thought they were.

" Where we going?" She asked him.

" somewhere safe." He replied back with a blank look.

She huffed and folded her arms and thought about the boy in the arena. She slowly felt her eyes closing in on her and she fell into darkness.
