one year ago, summer night, one o'clock

''Jefferyyyyy comeeee..'' Kayla, the blonde girl who was sitting on the floor said, as she extended her arms to reach Jeffery.

''Why are you so wasted again.. I can't always be here for you.''

Jeffery pulled her up and she wrapped her arms around his waist. Her breathing was heavy against his chest. Which he seemed to like, even though he was annoyed at her because of the stunts she pulled earlier that evening.

''I did my hair all waveeeyyy.. Jusssst like you like it Jeffy.'' Kayla ruffled her hair with her right hand as she struggled to stand up leaning on Jeffery's body.

''Yeah, yeah. Lets get you sober now, shall we?'' He asked with a slight smile on his face. He could never hide his emotions towards her, which made everyone aware of his feelings at any time.

Sadly Kayla never seemed to notice those feelings. Even though he brushed her hair when she came home drunk after a party, and cried on his shoulder after her mom left.

Jeffery took her to the kitchen, where the event was a bit cooled off. He made her sit on the kitchen island while he prepared two cups of coffee and put leftover Chinese food into the microwave.

''Ewwwww.'' Kayla giggled as she pointed at the coffee cups Jeffery was bringing over.

''I know how much you hate this, but you shouldn't have drunk so much.'' He handed the cup to her. ''Your dad will freak out if he sees you like this again...''

Kayla wasn't listening. As always. She stood up, lightheaded, she dropped the cup from her hands. Coffee was spilled everywhere and the cup now broken.

''oops!'' She squealed and started running from the kitchen.

Jeffery stayed behind and cleaned up after her, like he always did. He knew he couldn't keep doing this for her anymore. Even though he loved her dearly.

This had to end.
