Carefully, Juvia moved across the white tiled floor, a scent of chlorine filling her nose. The light from outside shone through the glass windows, creating an illuminate glow across the pool water. Not a sound was to be heard except the calming sound of the pool water, peacefully ebbing.

Sighing, Juvia tucked a strand of her light blue hair behind her ear. She tried to imagine how a child felt. The happiness, the laughter, nothing bad or gloomy at all.

She curled her toes over the edge of the cobolt colored pool, staring down at her haphazardly painted toenails. Juvia deeply inhaled the smell of the chlorine as she nervously adjusted the straps of her grey bikini. She raised her arms hesitantly above her head, her hands touching.

If I just relax and focus, nothing bad will happen.

With a small lunge, Juvia dived into the depths of the water. It was cold. It engulfed her body, taking away all its warmth and replacing it with a cool temperature. Small white bubbles tickled her skin as she plummeted further into the pool. It felt great. Once the bubbles rose to the surface, it was clear to see the pool wall at the other end. Juvia took in the view of its long length. She loved having all this space to herself this early time of the day. The other end seemed so far away it was almost like she was swimming in the ocean.

The deep end of the pool was at least 7 foot deep, so there was plenty of water to swim down into. So Juvia swam all the way to the bottom in a smooth breaststroke, eyes wide open.

She had always been able to have her eyes open underwater without goggles and her eyes never got sore or red. Completely the opposite. In fact, her eyes were often brighter and bluer than they already were when she was in the water. Like she belonged there.

It was possibly one of the only places she felt like she belonged. Juvia could never say that for Granite Bay sadly.

So that's why Juvia liked to come to the pool whenever she got the chance. To feel welcomed. To feel a sense of belonging. But most of all, to feel happy, and at ease.

Juvia pushed through the thick particles of the water until she finally got to the bottom. Her fingertips brushed the pool floor as she propelled herself near the bottom.

She swam through the pool further and further at a fast pace, gliding effortlessly. Juvia took in all her surroundings. The blue and white tile of the pool floor. The distant surface of the water above her. Everything she could think of whilst swimming.

She finally reached the other side. Juvia pushed off the pool floor and shot up through the water, slightly gasping for her breath. She smoothed her damp hair down with her hands, then ringed the water out of it into the pool.

"Quite some swimming there, Juvia," a low and familiar voice said above her. Gasping with shock Juvia's head snapped up to see Aria, along with Sol and Totomaru next to him.

"A-Aria?" Juvia stuttered quietly. Aria's laugh boomed through the building, his strange top hat nearly falling off.

Sol pinched at his thin green mustache. "Surprised to see us, hm?" He leaned over the pool to speak to Juvia, which made her take a step back slightly. Nerves built up inside her. "Yes, I suppose. Why are you here?"

Totomaru took a step forward. "We need you tonight my sweet," he said with a sly smile across his face. Juvia looked away at the pool. Toto was always teasing her. Even though she had a boyfriend. Although he was being very distant...

Juvia shook her head. "No, I have plans tonight." She tried to sound strong and brave but it just came out as a whisper instead. Toto chuckled, the black line tattoo across his face rising with his smile. "I'm afraid you don't have choice."

"B-but Toto, I'm seeing my boyfriend today and we're supposed to be having dinner-"

"Cancel," Totomaru shrugged. Juvia looked back up at the powerful trio. Totomaru was staring at her intensely, his black and white hair covering most of his face. Sol was grooming his mustache again. And Aria was adjusting his top hat. These were the only friends she had left. But she was beginning to realise it wasn't friendship they were after, but another member for their group, The Element Four.

All her other friends didn't want to stick around. They thought Juvia was too different and wouldn't fit in. The more Juvia thinks about it, they never really were her friends in the first place.

She sighed deeply, closing her eyes, "Fine." Saying that made her feel weak. Powerless almost. But it was the only way. At least she felt welcomed! They took her under their wing when no one else saw her as anything but strange. It was the only way, right?

The Element Four group was all she knew.

Totomaru grinned wildly, borderline evil. "I'm glad we can agree, Juvia. Meet us tonight at five pm at the high rise building," he said in a devious tone. Juvia nodded quickly.

"Oh yes," Sol said slowly, "We will show those fairies who's boss!" The three of them walked away from the pool, plotting and laughing as they left the pool grounds.

Fairies? Juvia thought as she hoisted herself onto the cold tile floor. I wonder who they mean...
