/New beginnings/

Erza, looked at the details of Juvia's letter with a close eye. Juvia trailed behind her, trying to keep up, observing that Erza seemed to separate crowds without even looking up to see where she was going - she must be one who is known not to be messed with, nobody wanted to get in her way. Like an unspoken agreement. Erza stopped suddenly and with all that observing Juvia nearly fell into the back of her. Erza finally took her eyes away from the page and gazed up at a classroom door the two had stopped in front of, "Ah, here you are. This is where you have homeroom. A little time before you head to your first class." Juvia looked at the door, frightened of who and what would be behind it.

Erza folded the letter and handed it to Juvia, who took it back with a quiet 'thank you'. With a clasp of her hands together, Erza sighed "Well, new girl, this is where we part ways for now." Juvia felt her grip on her letter tighten as she held it to her chest. Erza chuckled, "Don't fret. Look," she took 2 or 3 steps backward till she stood in front of a different classroom door. She pointed at the door number, "I'm only next door, see!". Juvia released a sigh of relief and her tight grip relaxed. She nodded in understanding. Erza gave a warm smile and a wave, "I better go in, so should you," she nodded to Juvia's homeroom door. Juvia waved back and nodded and Erza began to open her homeroom door to head inside. "E-Erza?" Juvia called, Erza leaned back tilting her head from the open door. Juvia coughed, still feeling that silly shyness, "Thank you for all your help, really." Erza smiled and waved it off like it was nothing, then headed into her room. Juvia watched s the door closed behind her. She was then aware of all the noise surrounding her in the crowds of students on their way to their homeroom. Okay, Juvia, time to get in there. With one last deep breath, Juvia gently pushed open the door to her homeroom and walked inside.

Upon opening the door she heard chatter and saw that students were dotted around the room, leaning on tables talking to each other, some reading and writing with each other, looking out the window, even playing video games on small consoles together. It was a busy atmosphere, but not overcrowded.

Juvia noticed someone by the desk in front of the board, the teacher she guessed. It was a tall woman, pink hair and old in her years, organising papers on her desk. Juvia began to walk over to her, "Excuse me, miss?". The teacher turned to face her, looked her up and down, then simply asked "New girl?". Juvia was taken aback by the bluntness, was it that obvious? She nodded, "Yes, Juvia Lockser. It's my first day, miss...?"

"Miss Porlyusica, dear," the teacher replied, then swiftly returned to organising her papers and said "Now, I know your first day is always exciting and even a little scary but I am a very busy woman this morning so if you do not mind lets get you introduced, find you a seat, and be done with it, yes?"

Juvia gulped, this teacher was very honest, but maybe that was a good thing for her first day. Juvia nodded, then realized Miss Porlyusica was still not meeting her gaze, so said "Yes, Miss Porlyusica, that would be a good idea."

Porlyusica pulled out a piece of paper from a pile and examined it carefully, mumbling "Yes, I did think so." Suddenly, she put down the papers and called out to the bustling class "Seats, now please." With immediate effect all the students disbanded groups, saying goodbyes, grabbing bags and blazers and moved into what must have been their assigned seats. Porlyusica had quite the classroom control. Juvia saw there was a seat available near the window towards the back, which looked so inviting and comfortable she truly hoped it would be hers. Then Juvia realized that the rest of the class had noticed the "new girl" stood at the front of their homeroom. A few whispers ensued . Juvia now did not feel so comfortable and wanted desperately to take her seat, but just as she was about to make her way over, Porlyusica placed a hand on her shoulder which made Juvia jump back a little.

"Class T," Porlyusica announced, her hand still firmly planted on Juvias shoulder, "this is our new student, Juvia Lockser." Juvia observed the faces of the students, some smiling, some not paying attention, some whispering to others...all eyes on Juvia. She felt like prey, but she tried to push it down. Juvia was not going to let her old habits and ways of thinking she had at Granite Bay return here at Fairy Tail. But please can I sit in my seat now?

Porlyusica continued, "It is her first day here so please do be kind and help her out where you can," She patted Juvias shoulder twice and pointed towards the empty seat, offering Juvia the notion to go take her place. Juvia smiled up at her teacher and then walked towards her seat, Porlyusica already moving onto some topics and going to write on the board. Juvias eyes focused firmly on the ground as she moved past students to her seat, even though she could feel the presence of many eyes watching her. Juvia sat down and got herself comfortable, pushed her bag under her seat and her coat on the back of her seat. When she was finished and looked up to see what was happening all eyes had moved away from Juvia and towards Porlyusica, who was writing some recent topics on the school on the board. Juvia exhaled quietly, glad to no longer have everyone looking at her.

This is going to be an interesting day...
