"If she flinches when you go to put your arm around her, someone else's hand once wasn't so sweet. If she questions you, someone else lied to her. If she doesn't tell you things, someone else once betrayed her. Behind every complicated girl or girl who is scared to love, etc. is a girl who is tired of being broken."

Prologue

So he broke up with me. What of it? He was an ass. However, that wasn't really my problem. My problem...was my dad.

On the brighter side of things, though, I had a close group of friends, and a new and better relationship.

I talked about my ex a little at the start, and I wasn't kidding when I said that he was an ass. Yeah, he was a bad boy, but I don't care about that side of him. It started out all rainbows and butterflies, then he snapped, broke up with me, and left the country to start a new life. So screw him.

Anyway, my parents divorced about five years ago now, and I had to live with my dad since my mum was always travelling with her new husband.

My dad has always been blaming me for their divorce. He kept saying that if I wasn't so damn annoying and a spoiled brat, then it would've worked out.

From my side of the story, it wasn't my fault that my parents divorced in the first place. It was just that they had different opinions of what they wanted in life, and they divorced. Or at least, that's how I like to think of it.

My dad doesn't care about what I think, though. And when he gets angry he takes it out on me. Now isn't that just great?

Hi. The name's Tessa Hathaway. I'm eighteen years old, I've dated a bad boy, and my dad hates me. Anyone want to weigh in on this?
