**Still Tessa's POV**
Later that night.....
It's going on about midnight and earlier on, I'm thankful that my dad hadn't beaten me after I'd gotten home from work.
Right now though, I'm obviously trying to get some sleep when I hear something tapping my window. And again. And again.
After arguing with myself if I should go look or not, I finally get up and make my way over to my bay window.
I sit down and reach over to open it. After looking around and thinking that it was probably just nothing, I start to close the window when someone stops me.
"Down here!" Someone hisses.
I look over the ledge properly this time and I see Mason. Are you kidding me?
"What the hell are you doing at my house?" I demand in a hushed voice.
"Why are you avoiding me then?" He questions me.
"Because you pull annoying stunts like this! What do you think?"
"Tess, can't we just talk it out?"
"No! My dad's gonna kill me if he catches me."
"Maybe some other time then. Tomorrow night after school, I'll take you out."
"I can't." I say.
"Why not?" He asks me.
"Because my dad won't let me. I know that sounds stupid, but I just can't."
"He used to be fine with it when we went out over a year ago."
"Then why don't you sort it out with him?"
"I will."
"Yeah. Good luck with that. Now go home." I tell him.
"Wait! Tess...are we at least friends?" He asks.
"We'll see."
"What the hell's that supposed to mean?"
"Just go home, will you?"
"Tess, come on-"
Too late. I've already closed the window.
I sit on the little couch in the bay window for a few more minutes before heading back to bed.
The next day.....
I've just finished breakfast when there is an unexpected knock at the door. My dad goes to answer it and in walks Mason.
Okay. I know I said that he should talk things out with my dad, but I didn't think he'd do it thebfirst chance he got! How eager is this guy, I mean really?
They go into the living room and out of sight. To be honest, I couldn't care less what they were talking about in there, I'm going to start heading to school.
Jacob is actually supposed to be picking me up today, so when I'm ready, I head outside and soon enough, he pulls up.
"Good morning." He greets me as I slide into the passenger seat.
"Morning, Jake." I acknowledge him as we drive off.
"How's everything going?"
"All good today. No bruises."
"That's good. Who's car was that in the driveway?"
"Mason's."
"Are you kidding me? What the hell's that douche doing at your house?" He questions me.
