Chapter 23
"Rina?...Rina?"
The moment I felt a hand on my shoulder, my mind instantly went into battle mode. I grabbed the arm that was attached to the hand that touched me and attempted to break it. Before I could hear the bone snap I heard, "Ow! Rina, you're about to break my arm!"
I immediately let go when I recognised the voice. I sat up to look at him. "Jordan what the fuck?!"
"I was trying to wake you up!" He said rubbing his arm.
"Well next time give a fucking warning!"
"How am I supposed to warn you when you're sleeping?!"
"I don't know, you're in college, figure it out!" I hopped out of bed and started putting on the clothes I had on from yesterday.
"There's an extra toothbrush in my bathroom." He informed me as soon as I finished putting my clothes on. Not to mention he stared at me the whole time and let's just say that it wasn't at my face. I nodded and headed to the bathroom. Once I was finished I started putting my shoes on.
"What are you doing?"
"Getting ready to leave."
"You do know that my mom won't let you leave without feeding you first?" He said laughing.
My head snapped in his direction. "Are you kidding me?"
"No, she does it to me too. I was even late for school a couple of times because if it."
"Your mom is insane."
"Tell me about it. Come on let's go see if breakfast is ready." Still in his pajamas he grabbed my hand and started to guide me to the door.
I snatched my hand away at his action. "What the hell are you doing?"
"Holding your hand, that's what couples do." He reached for my hand again and I pulled back further.
"Who said we're a couple?"
"Come on Rina, we talked about this."
"Yeah we talked about it but I never agreed to it."
Jordan's face saddened tremendously. "Alright, I'm not going to rush you. I'll let you warm up to me on your own terms."
"Isn't that what you've been trying to do since you met me?"
He let out a sad chuckle with his eyes on the floor. "Yeah you could say that."
The door opened out of nowhere and his mother walked in. She looked surprised to see us awake but happy nonetheless. "Oh! I was just coming to tell you too breakfast is ready."
Jordan gave his mother a soft smile. "Thanks mom, we'll be right down."
She smiled back. "Alright dear." She turned to me. "Are you sure you're feeling up to come and eat breakfast?"
"Yeah, I'm good."
"Okay I'll see you in a bit." She then left to go back downstairs.
Without any words we went downstairs as well and sat at the table piled with food. "You okay?" Jordan's dad asked me.
"Yeah, I guess I'm okay." I said awkwardly.
He nodded his head approvingly. "Good. I hope you're ready for a big breakfast." He then looked over at his son and his face fell a little at his son's depressed state. "Jordan is there something wrong?"
"No, just thought I had something when it turns out I didn't." He said looking at me. What the hell was his problem? Was it because of what I said earlier? Yeah, I admitted I liked him but that didn't mean we were a...couple.
