Colette's POV
I hated him, the worst person in the world, he who was a ugly person, inside and out. But the most important thing was, who was him? I honestly have no idea. It just said Him on his jacket, and his breath smelled really bad. It was nastier than a baby's diaper, let me tell you that. And to be honest, what smells worse than a baby's diaper?
''Let. Meeh. Go. Youh. Piece. Ofh. Nasty.'', I spat out at him. He just squeezed my neck harder, but lucky for me, I had a M26 in my pocket. This guy looked like he had no brains, so I did the only thing I could think of. As politely as I could, I asked Him, '' Excuse me, sir? Would you mind getting something for me?'', ''Oh, not at all, miss. What would you like me to get for you?'', he replied, with politeness. ''Do you see that box in my sweater pocket? Yea, that one. Do you think you could get it out, put it on your hand, making sure the holes are facing you, then turn it on for me please?'' ''Okay little girl.'', he did as I instructed, then with a zzzzzzzaaaap sound, he fell to the floor, and I escaped through the opening in the roof, but after kicking him off the train.
I had gathered my weapons earlier, and I thought about returning them, but then changed my mind when I heard the sound of a baby crying. I ran into the nursery, but when I got there, all four kids were fast asleep. I went out, but I could still hear the sounds of some kid crying. It seemed to be coming from outside the train, so I opened and peeked out of a random window in the hall, and nearly died from fright at what I saw! It was a baby, a little older than James, but younger than Will.
''HELP ME!'', he screamed, almost in hysterics. ''Alright, I'll help, just hold on for me, just a couple more seconds! I'll save you, sweet. Hang on.'' His lip quivering, tears threatening to spill out of his eyes, he merely nodded. Luckily for me, I used to climb flat/ smooth surfaces like walls as a kid, so I already knew how to do it. I climbed out the window, and slowly, but surely made my way to the kid. I held onto him, and put him on my back, his arms gripping my neck. I scooted back to the window, and pulled myself in after I'd put him inside.
He stood up, looking quite calm for someone who almost had a near death experience. "The name's Zayn, and I'm 2 years old.'', I took in his appearance; Black hair with natural brown tips, dark brown eyes, and facial features that looked kind of like my own. After a couple of seconds, I finally spoke. ''My name's Colette, but you can call me Callie. Also, I'm 14 years old.'' A small, shy looking smile appeared on his face that seemed to light up his facial features greatly.
"So Zayn, would you like to come back with me to see my four baby brothers? I mean, you don't have to, but if you want to, you can. Your choice.'' ''Sure, I'd love to see your brothers, if it's not a bother to you.'', he spoke. "'course it isn't, sweet!'', I exclaimed. He just smiled, and I started walking down the hall towards the door to the nursery.
It was a good five minutes away, and we walked in a comfortable silence. ''You know, I never got to thank you.'', he spoke suddenly, out of the blue. ''Hmm? What for?'', I asked. ''For two things. The first one for saving my life. Thanks a lot, Callie.'', he smiled. ''No problem, kid. And the other one?'', I asked, my curiosity killing me from the inside.
''For not asking about my family.'', he said quietly, in a trembling voice. "I wish that I'd known them. I've lived in an orphanage since the day I was born. I don't have any family members that I know about. I've never been treated with care ad respect before you. I'm just glad that you saved me. So again, thank you, Callie.'', he finished, tears now streaming down his face. I pulled him in for a hug, and kissing the top of his head, I speak, choosing my words carefully. ''You wanna know something sweet? I'm just like you. I don't know anybody from my family, except for my aunt. I don't even know if I have any parents or siblings out there. Sure, I said that I have four brothers, but they're not my real, blood brothers. Their mother didn't want them, so I took them in as my brothers. If you'd like, I can take you in as well. We can all be one big happy family. The six of us. What do you say? You in?''
His features immediately lit up, his face shining with excitement, as he exclaimed, ''YES!'', ''Thank you so much!'' chuckling, I responded with, ''no problem, bro.'', ''and by the way, we're here. Just let me retrieve them from inside. You can come too.''
Opening the door, we stepped inside, and suddenly, two bodies hurled themselves at me, laughing. ''Callie!'', they exclaimed. ''Hey guys! I have to introduce you to someone! He's now going to a part of our family!'', I grinned, bringing him in front of me. He waved shyly, looking super nervous. ''HI! I'M WILL, AND I'M 3 YEARS OLD AND THE OLDEST!'', exclaimed Will, with tons of enthusiasm. Zayn looked taken aback, probably because of Will's bubbly and loud personality. Emphasis on loud. '' And I'm James, 2 years old, and apologizing about Will in advance. He's the loud and sometimes annoying brother.'', explained James. Raising an eyebrow, I looked at James, surprised that he could act so mature for his age. ''The name's Zayn, and I'm 2 years old as well.'', Zayn said.
''Wait!'', ''Where's Niall and Eddie?!'', I exclaimed, feeling worried. ''Oh, they're sleeping.'', answered Will. Hearing that, I breathed a sigh of relief. I went over to where they were sleeping, and picked one up in each arm. I told the remaining three boys to hold hands and to walk in front of me to our luxury residential suite. When they opened the door, Zayn gasped in surprise. In fact, I think we all did.
The whole entire room was completely trashed; furniture upturned, and some of it even split in half. There were burn marks on the wall and ceiling. The chandelier had been smashed to pieces, glass and other debris littering the floor. Suddenly, we all heard a noise coming from the ensuite.
All four of us people who could walk snuck over. I kicked open the door, to reveal the current state of the connected bathroom. Thankfully, it was intact and it was exactly how we left it. We entered the bathroom, and suddenly, the door swung shut on its own. I counted the kids; Will, Zayn, James, Niall, and Eddie. All good. Before we could register what was happening, the lights went out, and we were all left in darkness. Everything started shaking, the noise becoming louder and louder. The babies woke up, and their crying added to the already screaming kids and the strange noise that the train was making.
There was a bright light, then suddenly, we all felt ourselves falling down, deeper, and deeper, into a pit of darkness. Holding onto all five kids, I shut my eyes, bracing for impact, when my ears popped, and I couldn't hear anything anymore.
