And this ladies and gentlemen is why you don't get mixed up in interracial wars. The elves were basically killing each other because one side was too stuck up to realize that they were both elves and the other side was too "honor" bound to stop.

Bull shit. If they could just look past their stupid ears...

Rolling my eyes, I went back to the dead bodies. Karim was right. They did look sad and depressing. One had his chest mutilated with thin gashes. It was the same thin strip as that elf's blade, the tall leader guy who talked with that ridiculously good sounding and heroic voice. He was inside the cave and only proved my point.

The three dead dark elves were outside while their supposed leader was inside. He didn't even make sure they were alright before going in there. Heck, he didn't even leave a guard or two outside just in case.

Not that I care mind you. Just seems that if you have such a manly man's voice, you'll have some manly man ideals.

Look at Raiden. Big boy and all.

"What answers are you looking for?" Zara asked softly. Her blue eyes were directed at the dead.

'Was that a tear?' I thought, eyes narrowing further. 'Is she crying? Over what, a few dead programs?'

Hey, I said it was sad, not downright depressing. You didn't need to cry over it. It's not like it's spilled milk right?

"They're coming back," Karim warned. "Come on. Ready yourself." I stood up and turned to await the arrival of the glorious elves.

With pointy ears.

The soft pitter patter of disciplined steps got closer. Cobalt shifted beside me and raised his spiked shield.

"Hear that?" he whispered, "Uneven steps. I think... on the fifth beat. I'm willing to bet that's Lysinius. He's wounded."

"Got it."

"W-what should we say?" Zara asked. She hovered behind me and I bet Yumi was nearby.

Those two stuck together like glue.

"I'll do the talking," Raiden offered. He glanced over and I shrugged.

He could talk. He was better at talking. I'm a bit more... interrogating in my speech.

The elves emerged without a word. They were in rows with that fancy-schmancy dude at the front.

"Hur hur hur," I mocked, putting on a snobby tone. "I'm all stylish with my hair."

"Stop," Karim hushed, "You'll get us killed."

"'Fraid not mate," I said in English, "Gonna show these here bums a thing or two. Tip top and aw dat!"

Man oh man was I good! Perfect accent too!

"Was that... Australian?" Zara said, breaking off my mental celebration.

"Um... no?" I glared at her with all the disgust I could muster. Okay, that's an exaggeration. I tried my best to look absolutely insulted.

"That was pure Brit, through and through."

How dare she critique my accent. The nerve.

"Are you sure?" Karim interjected. He was smiling from ear to ear while those elves came ever closer. "Because that was definitely from down under."

"I'll give you down under." Rolling my eyes, I waited for his fanciness to get within range before formally acknowledging his ears and hair.

"Halt," the leader dude said, "At ease."
