Walking out of the small town I call my home is easier than I imagined. After all those years I've spent hiding in my little aging chamber I thought it would be hard to let go of such precious memories. Truth be told I didn't really have the best one there.

Year after year I waited for my father's return. All I got was a memo every year saying he was still alive. Trapped out somewhere at sea our village Can't do anything to help the crew.

Only a while back he stopped sending them. Mother still believes he's out there while I know he's dead. I can feel it, like how you feel when you know you're not going to be feeling well tomorrow after you ate a whole turkey.

Ever since that feeling came I haven't felt any real emotion. 3 years before the feeling I felt my first love. Different from how I'd think it would be I was easily comfortable with the feeling. Which is why I never over react to anything.

I never cried when my cousin, Kendra died. We where best friends; Kendra the creative Outcast that is underestimated and me. I'm the adventurer, the imagination of us both. I loved her and she loved me. Now that she's dead I have to do this alone.

I watched as the sun rose over the mountains. Looking down to see my village I noticed a few ant-like dots that I knew were my family, waving. This was the first real adventure someone had gone on since dad.

Knowing that everyone from there village was supporting me certainly filled me with determination to finish this race. But there question is not why am I leaving my village, it's where am I going.

A few weeks ago I told my mum I wanted to travel to the Magilenion Forest, where the great Phoenix lives. It was only a few miles away but the trip was difficult and long. It was all going to be worth it at the end though.

My three wolves, Rami, Tango, and Grita where trained to stay close to me so I know Ill be quite safe if none end up dead.

I took a breath and stepped forward. Staring at the mountains ahead I knew they held a great adventure for me. Whether it was my destiny to die up there or to make it back to my mom, what ever this road had planned out for me I will not hesitate to go.

3 steps in and I already could only see a splitter of my village. One more step in and I will have finally begun my adventure. I'll set out to finally find the Phoenix the legends indicate.

No more thinking.

Finally I take my last step towards the steep, stony hills; looking back one last time to see a rock piercing out of the ground to block my only view I'd possibly have left.
