"Whaddaya got there?" Joker asked amused, lifting his head slightly to get a better view of what Harley had in her pocket.
She dug into her pocket and removed a small pocket-sized stuffed kitten and held it up, looking at it proudly.
"I brought you a kitty." She said gleefully.
"So thoughtful." He said looking at the stuffed toy briefly, but then looking at her. He looked vey focused today. He smiled brightly but it didn't last.
It was as if he had something on his mind. He was concentrating on something, Harley didn't know what.
She slowly put the toy down and smiled at him.
"You seem...absent." She said.Joker sighed, once again twisting his face into a frown.
"You know I'm always here for you.." she said, hoping to break him free of his spell.
"I know, And I appreciate that. That's why I was hoping....hoping you could do me a little...itsy, bitsy favor." He said. This was it. The timing was perfect. This was his goal from the beginning. Talking to Harley was a step above talking to himself, and she was easy on the eyes as well as equally insane, but she was a pawn. To help him escape was what he solely needed her for. That was what he saw in her.
A way to get out. To quench his thirst for havoc once again.
"Anythin- I mean, yes," she said, immediately correcting herself.
God Harley, can you be anymore thirsty? She thought to herself.
He leaned in closer, his voice lower than usual. "I need a machine gun."
Her eyes widened at his request. Was he serious?
"A-a machine gun?" Her voice quivered.
Where in the world would she obtain a machine gun, or any type of gun for that matter?
"I don't understand," she said looking right into his eyes.
"You know what I like about you Harley? You're not afraid to look me dead in the eyes and make conversation. One of the most attractive features on a woman, her audacity. Her cunning. Her attitude." Plan B. He started sweet talking her. Convincing her that she was what he desired.
She blushed and looked down, avoiding his gaze now.
"Darling, don't you see? I want you on my team. You know who it was that put me here. You know who it was who made my life a living hell. I just need one...glimmer of hope. And ever since I met you..." He stopped. It was here that she'd melt at his feet.
"Where...do I get a machine gun?" She asked, almost whispering.
The joker grinned. "I know just the place." He couldn't contain his enthusiasm, it seemed his laugh echoed through all of Arkham. Harley looked up at him, her heart pounding against her chest after obviously agreeing to do as he said.
She found herself laughing along with him. Their voices echoed. Eerily.
The guards outside heard the outburst between the psychologist and her patient, looking at each other from the corners of their eyes. It was...ominous.
