(Note: So Since this is fanfiction, I wanted to
Change some things for my story. A lot of these ideas come from the movie but there are dramatic changes. I know where I'm going with the story, I just want to fit whatever elements from the movie I can into it for more material. That, and I want it to be believable. Thanks for reading!)*****
Joker was sat upright across from Griggs.
"So I gave her the phone. And when she heard it was from you, she looked happier than I've seen her in weeks," Griggs explained, terrified at the jokers reaction.
Joker wasn't pleased. At all. He had thought about the way he'd do it, he'd thought long and hard.
"Change of plans, Griggs," he said, his tone lowered, "I'm busting her out tonight."
"Sir, I respect your decisions but knowing where they are now, it doesn't make sense. You are putting yourself in danger by doing so. It'll be easier for them to catch you." Griggs tried to persuade joker.
Joker, however, wouldn't have it. "You think I'm stupid?" He said, lifting his hand up to cover his mouth, the tattooed mouth on his hand now covering where is mouth was.
Griggs swallowed hard.
"Sir, I'm just--" Griggs started but joker wouldn't let him continue.
"We leave tonight. You said Waller was gonna run a few helicopters up into the city. You will hijack one of them and I will take her from the battlefield. I don't give a shit how you do it. But this is going to happen," joker said.
Griggs nodded. He knew damn well what would happen if this plan didn't go through tonight.
Joker growled. "Sending her off to battle some unknown force, risking HER life? And they thought I was a sick fuck." Out of frustration, he laid back on the floor surrounded by weapons and let out a loud laugh.
AHAHAHA!!
....
Harley sat in the helicopter with a few of her new 'friends'. She had put up a facade to mask her frustrations. She had been threatened and mocked, but despite it all still managed to keep a smile on her face. The only thing comforting her at this point was the cell phone tucked deep into her pocket.
Staring out the window towards their destination, she felt a vibration coming from the phone. She discreetly looked down at it.
J: I'm coming for you. Be ready.
She smiled and tucked the phone into the safety of her pocket. How she had missed him.
....
Joker held the phone in his palm. This was the only thing connecting them now. He was never this sentimental but she had been pried from him. And he didn't take it well.
He was already on the helicopter with Griggs and another henchmen. The takeover had been pretty simple. No hostility like he thought there would be but that's what happens when you have people working in the police force.
As they neared the other helicopters, joker gave the command to fire rounds at everything and anything. The plan was to distract everyone there just enough so Harley can escape without them knowing.
But first, they had been able to successfully deactivate the chip in her neck. Since this would be an escape and consequently an act of betrayal, they would surely press the button to have her head explode. However, he made sure to deactivate the damn thing. That was a priority.
Only one person had caught on to her plan with the joker through her subtle hints. Only he bothered to listen. But, understanding how she felt for him, he didn't bother trying to hinder her in any way.
As Harley walked bravely into the barrage of bullets and lasers, she saw him again. She was tattered and bruised, beat up and bloody. He always left her breathless, she was unable to believe the person standing before her. He threw his gun to the floor and held his arms open instinctively, reacting to seeing her again for the first time in a very long time. She jumped quickly onto the rope extending from the helicopter and climbed up all the way to him.
He grabbed onto her and pulled her up into his arms. He couldn't resist her, kissing her deeply and passionately as the helicopter flew away from the harrowing battlefield.
"Puddin'!" She exclaimed, holding onto him tightly. "You dressed up for me," her eyes glimmered with excitement, looking at his nice shirt.
"Oh you know I'd do anything for you," he said huskily, bringing her closer to him. "By the way," he said bringing his lips to her ears, "I got grape soda on ice and a bear skin rug waiting."
She smiled at him wanting to kiss him again, but the helicopter was hit. Joker turned his attention to the front, eyeing his henchmen viciously. He then turned to Harley. "This bird is baked." He said, looking down at her. "Alright honey, you know what we gotta do," he said.
She nodded. "Let's do it."
She then felt herself falling from the helicopter. She tried to hold on to him but lost her grip, and fell backward out of the helicopter. The joker watched in horror as she slipped away from him in this crucial moment. Landing on a roof onto her feet, she rolled over multiple times and was able to run towards where the helicopter was going down quickly. But before she was able to react, the helicopter crashed. She stared in horror as memories flashed through her mind. His face was etched in her brain.
She couldn't believe what she had seen.
She blacked out immediately.
