Chapter 25

We fell asleep in our cave , when i woke up it was already night .

I looked up at Louis , i was still in his lap , a rock was supporting his back and he was still asleep . I shook him a bit to wake him up . When he opened his eyes and looked around he was surprised at first .

Then as the memories came crashing back to him i felt his body stiffen .

" oh no " he whispered

" you know the way back right ?"

" yea but at night the wolves come out "

" Louis i'm scared "

He wrapped his arms around me and hugged me tight to his chest .

" i won't let anything hurt you "

" what if something hurts you ?"

" don't worry about me Tee " We have to start walking "

So we walked hand in hand under the moonlight , so far Louis looked like he knew where he was going .

But i started hearing voices . Louis stopped walking . He squeezed my hand , as if he was afraid and was looking for some comfort .

A bush started shaking and suddenly a huge wolf jumped out of it . He howled and before we knew it we were surrounded by hungry scary wolves .

Louis pulled me closer to him .

" when i say three we run ok , but don't let go of my hand we have to stay together " he whispered in my ear as the wolves were slowly stepping closer .

My heart was beating faster and faster .

I didn't even hear Louis whispering 1 and 2 . I just heard him yell 3 !

And we ran as fast as we could . But the wolves were gaining on us !

I tripped and fell losing grip of Louis hand . When he noticed he turned around and was running back to get me . My leg hurt and i couldn't get up . I looked back and the wolves were too close if Louis comes back for me we'll both be dog food !

" Louis go ! " i yelled " if you help me we'll both die !"

He ran to me and helped me up .

" we live together or we die together , there is no third option " he said as i got up .

The wolves were inches away from us , and i couldn't walk anymore let alone run .

Louis lifted me and placed me on his back , then he climbed the nearest tree he could find till we were on the highest branch . He set me down making sure i would fall then he sat leaning his back on the tree . He pulled me to him and sat me on his lap , then ripped a piece of his shirt and wrapped it around my wound .

" you can sleep if you want to "he whispered

" but if we sleep we might lose balance and fall "

" don't worry about it , just rest "

" ok "

I fell asleep . When i woke up i looked at Louis , he was still awake .

Did he really stay up all night just so i could sleep ? !
