Meanwhile, on ground level, Benjamin had cuffed both Stefan and Gavin and sat with them in an otherwise empty room. Three chairs, three men, a pair of crutches and a marble coffee table."So, you think you can have Aimee all to yourself?" queried Benjamin.
Stefan glared at him. "She's a person, not an object, not a prize," he placed his arms on the table and leaned forward. "You'd know that if you hadn't abandoned her all her life."
Benjamin shot out of his chair and pulled out a gun from his back pocket. He pointed it at Stefan, who did not even flinch. Gavin on the other hand was ready to push his chair back and charge out of the room.
Benjamin did not say anything. He had a clear shot of Stefan's head, but hesitated. He knew that Stefan was right. His index finger moved away from the trigger.
"I won't kill you, but you had better watch your mouth," he sat back down.
Stefan looked the other way, without words or any facial expression, but he was scared for his life and it was visible in his eyes. Gavin cautiously came forward, scrutinising Benjamin's every move from then on. For a moment, no one said a word, but Abba previously instructed Benjamin to discover what GINM wanted with their daughter.
"How do you know my daughter?" he had Stefan's attention.
"That's none of your business," he replied.
"You do not care much for your life, Mr Summers!"
Stefan did not necessarily care whether Benjamin knew or not, he just did not want him to get his way. They both became annoyed with each other very quickly, but Buckley always told Stefan not to start trouble with AIM, so he was obligated to cooperate. He would answer his question, when he felt like it.
"Tell me, Benjamin, what makes you think Aimee wants anything to do with you people?" he posed.
"Whether we abandoned her or not, we are still her parents and no matter what, she will always yearn for a relationship with Abba and me," he smirked.
Stefan realised that that was partially true, but when he had the chance he would try to change that.
"I know Aimee from school, Buckley wanted to get her into GINM so he had me enrol as soon as he knew her whereabouts," he said. "She is only here because your lemming, Otis, knocked us out with some drug and we couldn't let him deliver the new–"
"We have known that Aimee is alive this whole time and Abba has been keeping an eye on her with a fly cam," Benjamin interrupted.
Stefan was shocked. "You people are messed up!" he exclaimed. "Do you have any idea what you have put Aimee through?!"
"Do you, Mr Summers?" he inquired. "Aimee has had the perfect life without us."
"So why don't you keep it that way, without you?"
"You and Gavin are the ones who brought her here," he reminded them.
Gavin finally responded. "That has nothing to do with anything," he said. "GINM knows you wanted to nab her sooner or later. We're gonna figure out what for. Aimee is smart and she's on our side."
"Sooner or later, we'll know exactly what your plans are and we will stop you!" Stefan chimed in.
"We always do," Gavin smirked.
Benjaminwas starting to sweat. The truth is pretty powerful, and so are the glares fromboth Gavin and Stefan. He fretfully pushed himself out of his chair again and reached for his pocket.
