You trailed behind your parents as they discussed loudly about their plans for their new life in town. You felt oddly uncomfortable as they walked into a restaurant. A classy one. Your mother tried to persuade you to wear a fancy dress/suit but you refused.
Now you kinda regret your decision. Everyone else wore long maxi dresses, James Bond style suits,faces caked with makeup and hats while you wore a worn out graphic T-shirt and baggy jeans with dirty converse.
'Hello madam and monsieur. Welcome to the suit and tie. Oh dear..urm..your daughter/son here is kinda underdressed.' The bubbly waitress gestured to your outfit.
'Oh she/he didn't want to wear a dress/suit. I hope you don't mind.' Your mother smiled apologetic while she shot a I-told-you-so look towards you.
'Well..I'm afraid I can't serve you.' Your waitress shrugged.
