As Daniel laid there not moving at all, Ella stared at him, lying there, not even twitching a muscle. Shrek put his huge hand on Ella shoulder and spoke softly,"E...Ella, I..." Ella still stood there staring at him, no emotions to show for him, not happy nor sad, just none. Ella looked up at Shrek and asked,"Can I ask something?" Shrek gulped and stuttered, " Yeah..." Ella stepped towards the bed and away from the body.

Ella asked,"I understand how you know my Mum and Daniel and Jacob but...How do you know me?" Shrek stood near the cupboard and began walking into the cupboard. Ella asked puzzled,"W..What are you doing?" And suddenly Shrek ran as fast as he could away from her...

Ella jumped up off the bed and ran as quick as she could to catch Shrek but Shrek was too fast for Ella, Shrek rushed quickly to the house and slammed the door behind him. Ella tried to push the door with her small, pale hands but she couldn't then Shrek suddenly locked the door and held the door shut. Ella shouted angrily,"WHAT ARE YOU HIDING!" Shrek yelled,"LEAVE ME ALONE ELLA!"

Ella suddenly stopped trying to push the door and walked away crying into the darkness , Ella walked to a tree and sat next to it, sobbing loudly. Shrek unlocked the door, looked at Ella, came out of the door and sat next to her. Ella cried,"I..Don't understand.." Shrek looked down and said,"I know you because..." Ella looked up at him and listened,"Yeah..." Shrek whispered," When Daniel Killed Fiona...I watched his every move and I thought that... You would grow up to be like him...so I watched you to see if you were like him..." Ella looked up, frowned and shouted,"Like him? Are you serious? You thought I would turn out like him? Well if that was the case, WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU GO NEAR ME IN THE FIRST PLACE?!?!" Shrek boomed,"BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT YOU TO BE LIKE HIM AND TRY TO MAKE MY LIFE ANY WORSE THAN IT ALREADY IS!"

Ella suddenly went quiet, trying not to make the conversation anymore awkward than it already was. Shrek looked at the murky ground and picked little stones of the ground and flung them away."so...you were trying to protect me?" Ella said softly, Shrek was still looking at the ground but he explained,"Yeah..." Ella said,"Thank you for...you know... Protecting me from Daniel..." Shrek stated,"It's fine..." Ella looked into the distance and asked,"What's that over there?" Shrek looked up into the distance and .answered,"Oh ,that? that's my swamp, I live near the swamp..."

Ella got up and walked slowly towards the swamp and gazed into the huge brown, muddy puddle. Shrek walked over next to her and looked up at Ella. Shrek went into the mud and lied there,"Wanna join?" Shrek asked. Ella shook her head and sat by the edge of the mud and looked at her reflection shining upon the mud. Shrek stated,"Come on..." Ella looked at him and said,"Okay Fine...But only for 5 minutes..." And Ella jumped into the muddy puddle. Ella relaxed in the warm mud and Shrek laughed,"So... You enjoy it then?" Ella gave him a little shove and giggled,"No...ok just a little."
Shrek cuddled into Ella and Ella laid her head on his Shoulder, Ella giggled and suddenly they both gazed at each other and...kissed.
