CHAPTER 20

* ONE WEEK LATER*

- CHRIS' POV

We were in the park. I had Zahra in my arms and Kerry was walking X.

"Here you go," I smiled at my baby daughter, giving her her milk bottle. "You like milk, don't you, Zahra?"

She gurgled a little. I kissed her softly after she'd finished drinking.

I'd changed a HELL of a lot in the past week. I'd grown from a boy to a man and damn, I could feel the transition. I'd dropped a lot of my 'niggas', AKA clingers. They didn't mean shit to me anymore. I also stopped seeing the attraction with weed... I mean, why would I want to smoke that shit when I had my two amazing girls, Zahra and Kerry, by my side? They were both perfect and I adored them to death.

I watched Kerry with X. She'd been a lot happier ever since we finished the European tour six months ago - I guess she preferred to be on home turf. 

She walked over to me, X following her. "Hey. X is too energetic today."

"I think he's just so damn excited about being in Zahra's company," I replied.

- KERRY'S POV

"Wanna swap?" I said, gesturing towards Zahra.

"I'll tie X's lead onto this tree. He done enough running around for today."

He passed me Zahra and I sat down on the picnic blanket with her.

"Hello Zahra," I smiled at her. "How are you doing today?"

She curled her hand around one of my fingers and wouldn't let go.

"Hey, you rascal," I laughed, looking over at Chris. "Chris, tell your daughter to behave herself."

He finished tying X's lead to the tree and then sat down next to us.

"Zahra, you naughty little girl," he whispered. "Be nice to Kerry."

She let go straight away and we both burst out laughing.

"You little cutiepie," Chris kissed her. He then kissed me. "We should get going. Karrueche will want Zahra back now."

"You've just tied X to the tree and now you're saying that? Can't we stay a bit longer, Chris?"

"I didn't realise the time. It will be getting dark soon."

"Chris, it's 3 o'clock. IN THE AFTERNOON."

"But it's winter. Besides, it's too cold now for little Zahra."

We got up. I placed Zahra in the stroller and picked up the picnic blanket while Chris untied X. We then walked to the new car that Chris had bought a few days ago. He said it was more of a family car than his others and he had insisted on buying it.

"I'll put Zahra in," Chris said.

I nodded and got in the front seat. Chris had definitely turned into more of a gentleman over the past week and he was acting more grown; I preferred the more maturer him. He was still his usual self, though, and the jokes and laughter never stopped for too long.

- KARRUECHE'S POV

I sat at home waiting for Chris to get back with Zahra. I still hadn't warmed to her, although I did care about her a little more. 

A few minutes passed and I then heard a car pull up in the driveway. I walked out and Chris was making his way towards me with Zahra in his arms.

"Say hi to Momma," he said to her. "You can tell her everything you've done today when you get in the house, ye-"

"Shit," Kerry interrupted. She was sat in the car with the door open. "Chris, my waters have broken."

Chris handed Zahra to me and then quickly got back in the car, setting off to the hospital.

- KERRY'S POV

I was trying to concentrate on taking slow, deep breaths in and out.

"Stay calm, Kerry," Chris said, keeping his eyes on the road. "I love you."

- CHRIS' POV

Kerry had started labour. I zoomed all the way to the hospital and slowly walked her in. They took her to the maternity ward and I went with her.

"Hold my hand, Chris," she grimaced once she was on the bed. "Prepare for your hand... falling off."

I laughed and held her hand. I'd seen all this shit before on TV programmes... I just couldn't believe that it was happening to my girl.
