Scott slapped his forehead trying to remember what happened. He didn't remember sleeping with Charlotte, but he didn't remember rejecting her either.

"Oh my... No! We didn't sleep together, Scotty!! I helped you to your room because you couldn't walk by yourself. You sat on your bed, took your pants off and passed out." Charlotte explained. - "I stayed over just to look after you. I didn't have a change of clothes so I borrowed your tee."

"Uh... OK... I do want to go talk to Lena, though. Would you mind getting dressed while I shower? I'll drive you home before going to Lena's."

"Sure!"

Scott grabbed clean clothes and got in the shower.

Charlotte knocked on the bathrooms door and yelled for him to hear her - "Do you mind if I make coffee?!"

"Please, do! My head will thank you!"

Charlotte got to the kitchen, made coffee and poured a cup for herself. She heard a knock on the front door so she walked over to it and peaked through the peephole.

She grinned holding her coffee mug in one hand and opened the door with the other. She was particularly happy for not getting dressed before breakfast.

"Lena! Oh my God!! What are you doing here?"

"Uh... I wanted to talk to Scott..."

"He's in the shower. I'll tell him you stopped by, honey!"

"You're one sneaky little bitch, aren't you?  My seat wasn't even cold before you snaked your way into Scott's pants."

"You snooze, you loose, bitch..."

"I hope you two are happy." She turned away, got in her car and drove home.

Scott heard her voice, finished showering, dressed up real quick and dashed to catch her before she left. By the time he got downstairs she had already started her car and left. He chased her up to the sidewalk, but failed to even get past his lawn. He realized he didn't have any shoes on.

He walked back to the house beaten and saw Charlotte in the doorway waving at Lena.

"What the FUCK did you say to piss her off?!"

"Me?!" Charlotte whined and her eyes welled with tears - "SHE called me a bitch and told me to told you to stay away from her." Charlotte sobbed and wiped her tears walking back into the house.

"I'm sorry, Charlotte! I didn't mean to upset you..." Scott had a soft spot for girls who cried - "I'm just worried about her being mad at me. I was hoping I could talk to her as soon as possible."

She sniffled and watched him put his shoes on fast.

"If we hurry up I might catch her as soon as she gets home." He said.

"She's using you, Scotty! She's been bragging about how dating her boss puts her above everybody else at work and how you always let her off the hook!"

Scott had a hard time believing that, but it made his head work overtime.

"Don't be mean, Charlotte!" He clenched his fists frustrated.

"I'm mean? She came all the way here to insult ME."

Scott nodded giving in.

"Well... What do you suggest I do?"

"I'll tell you what! How about you give me some time to freshen up and we go out for breakfast? My treat!" She fiddled with his hair.

Scott shrugged.

------------------------------------------------------

Lena had been planning to use her day off to visit Scott and work things out, but after what happened, all she wanted was to be alone at home.

She refused to feel sorry for herself any longer, so she stopped at a bakery on the way home, bought two big muffins, a big milkshake for her, a big mug of iced coffee for Harriet and dropped by her place.

Lena told her about what happened at Scott's. Harriet cursed Charlotte's name.

"That bitch should be watching her fucking back! And Scott too for being so fucking stupid! I told him she was sneaky!"

"I bet she doesn't even really like him, you know? I'm sure she's just messing with him to piss me off or to show off ar work or something." Lena was fuming.

"You think she's that cold?"

"I'm sure!" Lena stated slapping the table.

"I'm positive Scott doesn't believe her." Harriet said sipping coffee.

"Nah, he's too trusting! She was wearing his t-shirt and had no pants on! How did she go from being a laughingstock to his bed?!" Lena yelled in frustration.

"Ask her?" Harriet suggested.

"Yeah... And then Charlotte and I will braid each other's hair and talk about boys!"

"Ask him then? Maybe I can ask him"

"No... Don't you dare tell him a word about me!" She warned Harriet who decided not to talk about what she had confessed to Scott.

"Fine! Suffer, then!" Harriet sulked.

"He'll realize it sooner or later..."  Lena sighed trying to convince herself more than Harriet.
