Today's dedication goes to AverageEverydayHero because when we've spoken it's mostly ranting to each other about certain aspects of recent Games. As you can tell, it just so happens that I'm pretty sure I'm the last decently active person from the olden days left, so I literally have no one who is friends with me to discuss, and as I mentioned somewhere I have serious issues with friends, so, like, these dedications will be for the most mundane (yet lovely <3) of things.
Literally most of these pet peeves will be things that have happened at my work (as a busser at a restaurant) because BOY do some people annoy me. This list is also super recent, as in everything here has happened within the last couple days.
FIVE PET PEEVES
5. When people deliberately annoy/frighten you/f*ck sh*t up.
It annoys me to NO END when some people just deliberately screw things up for no other reason than to screw things up. In the context of bussing, there is a guy who will come up behind me and scream, or will throw things into the sink to splash me. I mean, he also keeps complaining to the waitresses that I have an attitude problem but he's not my boss and he keeps bossing me around. Man I hate that kid. Saying this, while I deliberately annoy people, it's more to see their reaction and not for the pure joy of messing it up.
4. When people act like the people they hang around with.
Continuing above, there is another boy who is super nice and actually had some issues with the kid mentioned before. The problem is whenever the kid works with the one who is a shitty person this normally nice kid becomes a mirror of the other and makes working with them double trouble. Personally, while I find myself trying to mimic other people's speech patterns involuntarily when I'm around them, when people deliberately or noticeably act differently around friends/colleagues, it bugs me to no end.
3. When people ask 'what's wrong' but aren't prepared to give legitimate answers.
It really annoys me when people ask me how I'm feeling but aren't prepared to give a response to it. I also hate how it's normal to reply 'good' no matter how we're feeling but whatever. Anyways, I know when people try to make me feel better by showering praise or whatever when I say I'm not doing great they mean well, and I know it helps others, but for me I'm logical to the point where while I love compliments, when I explain to someone my problem, I want them to give me a reasonably doable answer to the problem. I don't like it when people just say "oh, that sucks" or "you are so great blah blah" (because duh I know that lol), but I just want a real response that has solutions.
2. When people take something from you to use it rather than explaining to you how to do it.
This includes when people take my phone to input a wifi password, when my mother uses my things instead of telling me what I need to do (and she takes longer), and just generally when something could be explained to me but people do it themselves.
1. When people complain about something they can fix.
Nothing annoys me more than having to suffer through conversations about how much a person hates this other person but still hangs out with them, or how a person may go on about how much of a cheater another is (happened today) but they still help the person. If you want to complain about something you can fix (ie. Not being friends, not giving in and giving them answers) then please don't come to me. Nothing aggravates me more than people who moan about things they can change themselves. If they don't want to change it, that's not my fault, but don't come talking to me (unless you want legit advice about it).
