The library was empty, apart from Zexion. He was sitting in an armchair, curled up with a book he'd read probably a hundred times. To Zexion, it seemed like the whole world was silent, that nothing could or was willing to disturb the peacefulness. Well, for a while.

The door to the room swung open, and Zexion didn't need to look up to know who had walked in without knocking. The cloaked person dropped to the floor by the bluette's feet, resting his head against Zexion's legs with a sigh.

"What's wrong, Demyx?" Zexion asked, turning the page of his book, not looking up.

"I'm going on a mission tomorrow." Demyx shrugged, staring at his feet.

"You've gone on a lot missions, Dem, why is this one any different?" Zexion raised an eyebrow, subconsciously running his fingers through the blonde's hair.

"I'm going to the Underworld to steal the Olympus Stone." Demyx elaborated, tilting his head back and leaning into the bluette's touch.

"So?" Zexion murmured, still sounding thoroughly bored.

"Apparently, Sora is going to be there." That made the Cloaked Schemer lower his book to look at the blonde. He was staring ahead of him, looking anywhere but his boyfriend.

"They're sending you when Sora is going to be there?" Zexion asked, watching Demyx nod slowly, "That's crazy! Why would they send you? You hate fighting, and it's Sora we're talking about. He fights first and asks questions later!"

"I know." Demyx said quietly, suddenly finding his boot particularly interesting.

"You... you're worried you're not going to be able to stop him." Zexion realised, still pulling his fingers through his boyfriend's blonde hair.

Demyx nodded again with a positive hum.

"I... I can be there, if you want."

Demyx let out a humourless laugh, "No, you can't. They'll turn you into a Dusk if they know you disobeyed orders."

"Who says they have to know?" Zexion asked, almost silently.

"What do you mean?" The blonde frowned, finally looking back at Zexion, "What are you thinking?"

"I could leave an illusion of the Lexicon in the Underworld, somewhere that Sora would find it. If you can't manage the fight, you can send him to me to deal with." The bluette shrugged.

"How would that work?"

"Oh, illusions, delusions, manipulation, that sort of stuff."

"'Stuff'." Demyx snorted, "That's vague."

"It's meant to be." Zexion murmured, leaning down and pressing a kiss to the top of his boyfriend's head before pushing himself to his feet, "Come on. We can go back to my room for a bit, spend some time together before you have to go and get ready for the mission."

Demyx hummed again, and stood up, intertwining their fingers as Zexion led them from the room and into the corridor.

"What's the Lex-?"

"Absent Silhouette, Dem."

"Right. Thanks." The blonde nodded, "You left your book." He then pointed out.

"Oh." Zexion extended his empty hand and stretched out his fingers. A shadowy aura appeared and in a small puff of dark smoke, the black covered book materialized in his hand, "Thanks."

"Are you sure you want to be there? In the Underworld, I mean." Demyx asked, shooting Zexion a sideways glance.

"Of course. If it makes it easier for you and puts your mind at rest then I would travel halfway across the world." The bluette admitted, running his thumb over Demyx's knuckles, making the blonde sigh contently.

"I just... I don't want to be in the way. An inconvenience."

"You are not an inconvenience, Demyx." Zexion faced his boyfriend, dark blue eyes wide in shock, "I don't... You've never been in the way. I know Nobodies aren't meant to feel things, aren't meant to have hearts but I know, that without doubt, I love you."

Demyx just nodded, facing the ground again. He did, however, look up when Zexion pressed a hand to his cheek. Standing on his tiptoes, Zexion leaned up and pressed a gentle kiss on Demyx's lips. Demyx knew better than to take moments like this for granted. Zexion rarely gave signs of affection to the blonde unless they were in one of their rooms, or the library. It wasn't because he was scared of people seeing, it was because he didn't know how. So when moments like this came, Demyx always treasured them.

"Ooh, someone's in trou-ble!" The two pulled away as Axel walked towards them with a grin on his face, "Just kidding, I won't tell anyone. I was actually on my way to find Demyx."

"What do you need me for?" Demyx asked, slightly hesitantly.

"I don't. Saix told me to tell you that the Superior told him to find you to tell you that your mission time had been changed." Axel spoke quickly with a frown, his emerald green eyes sparkling.

"To when?"

"To now, got it memorised?" The redhead rolled his eyes as Demyx sighed.

"I guess I have to go." The blonde murmured as Axel started walking away.

"I'll be right behind you." Zexion told him with a small smile.

Demyx smiled back before letting go of the bluette's hand and headed after Axel. Zexion didn't move until Demyx was out of sight. He sighed, looked at the book in his hand, and headed back to his room by himself.

Wow! An update! Looky there! Sorry for the delay.
