The moment Bailey got off the boat, she looked for Eren, but he was no where to be found. She really was on her own. She stayed with the group of people for months , some went off to fight but only 20 came back, leaving 200 dead. More and more people came in, but never her brother.More attacks had broken through, leaving everyone to come over to this place. Soon enough, the cadet sign ups came up. Bailey was one of the first people in line, now at the age of ten. She had nothing to loose, nothing else mattered anymore. She got excepted the next day, and was taken to the Cadet training course.
She got taken to a cabin, where she'd be staying with a roommate. A girl came in, black hair blue eyes. She said her name was Skyler Suki, she had come here to become a soldier. She was very sweet, and soon enough they became good friends. Everything seemed to be going well, until when it became dark. She had these awful dreams, of seeing her parents and brother dying. Every night, she dreamt of a boy with dark hair and teal eyes, who she did not recognize or know. They'd be playing in a field, running around and playing together.
Every night for the last 3 years it was happening. She trained in combat, fighting, all working out well. At the age of thirteen , she was ready to take on the Titans, even though she knew she needed more training. She felt the rage in her heart, knowing that she needed to get revenge on everything they took. In a week, they were having a training mission. Over the years, she met some pretty interesting people. Jean Kristien, Sasha Braus, Krista Lense, , Connie Springer, Annie Leonheart, Berthodlt Hoover, and Reiner Braun. All of them were nice and considerate to her, well Annie kept quiet. Skyler was her new best friend, they did everything together, she was the sister she never had. Everything was running smoothly, an attack hadn't happened for 4 years.
One day, Skyler and Bailey were in their rooms. Bailey was laying on her bed drawing a picture. Skyler jumped down from her bed.
"You want to get something to eat?" She asked. "The bell just rang."
"Sure," Bailey said. "I'll meet you out there in a minute, I'm almost done."
"Okay I'll see you there."
Bailey finally finished the drawing, after at least two hours of drawing. She looked at it, proud of her work. She had drawn the teal eyed boys from her dreams. She got up from her bed and walked towards the mirror. She brushed out her hair, until she stopped. A figure stood in the entrance of the hut. A guy with brown hair and blue eyes with freckles stared at her. She turned around and looked at him. She couldn't speak. How was it possible?
Tears filled up her eyes, as she ran towards him and hugged him. He hugged her back, holding on tight. They let go and stared at each other. He stood about two feet above her at 5'8.
"How are you alive?" She asked.
"I got out of its grip," he said. "I got moved to a separate doc and saw the Cadet sign up sheets, I've been in a different quadrant. I'm so sorry I left you Bailey."
"Kendal...."
She hugged him again. It's been 4years, 4years she thought he was dead. He let go, staring at her.
"You've changed a lot," he said.
"You too," she said. "I'm still trying to get over the fact that your alive."
"You really thought I was dead?"
"Kendal, that Titan grabbed you and there was literally no way out. You told me to run and I did, there was a big explosion after I ran but I just kept going. There's literally no way you could've survived. How did you do it?"
"I'll tell you later, right now I want food."
For Bailey, seeing Kendal was like he was back from the dead. She couldn't believe him being alive, he had to be hiding something. But she knew her brother, when he's hiding something it's probably for her advantage. Kendal rarely kept anything from her, and in return she rarely kept anything from him, unless it was something important, so she didn't bother to ask. They both caught up, talking for hours and hours. It was weird. Before she was younger, now that she was older they could talk about all kinds of stuff. She found out that he had been top in his class, training hard and working his best. Bailey was kinda jealous, she was in the top five, she always felt lame compared to her brother. He said there's this girl in his squad names Marcy who he really liked, and thought he might have a chance with. Again, Bailey felt different cause no boy has ever liked her, she wasn't popular like her brother. Her brother was always better then her in someway, but she never told him about it, she knew he wouldn't understand. So she didn't say anything, she just let him talk. After a while he asked about her. She said she did great on the 3D maneuver gear test and is training more to use the swords and fight. She told him that she was in the top five of her class, and that her instructors called her a good soldier, they said it wasn't because she was a great and brilliant soldier, but was determined. Bailey was just a normal teenager, she wasn't great like Kendal in anyway, just average, but she knew she was determined to avenge her family, that's what her instructors said what made her such a good soldier, was her determination to follow her dreams.
"Bailey," he said. "Why are you so determined?"
"Every night I see it," she said. "I see that day all over again, mom, dad, you...... I'm done with crying and acting weak, I need to be strong and fight! I need to avenge my parents arm all the lives that were lost that day."
"Hey Bailey!" Some said. "Can I come in?"
"Yeah." She replied.
A tall boy then walked in. He had black hair and brown eyes with freckles on his cheeks. He looked over at Kendal confusingly.
"Kendal?" He asked.
"Marco!" Kendal yelled.
He got up and gave him a hug. All three of them were cousins, when Bailey came to the Cadets, she found Marco at lunch. He was there for her since Kendal was gone.
"How are you still alive?!" Marco asked.
"I've been in a different squad, I got out of its grip and got away," Kendal replied.
He patted his hands on Marcos shoulder.
"Damn you've gotten big," he said. "What squad you in?"
"104th."
"Well, they've got a good soldier then."
"Thanks, but your better!"
"Nah I'm average, I'm sure your great out there!"
"Everyone's great!" Yelled Bailey. "Everyone is great and better and amazing soldier! But, that doesn't mean you can just go around bragging about it because there are some people who aren't that great!"
She grabbed her Cadet cape and stormed out of the tent. She ran out past the fence and went over the barbed wire and into the woods. She followed the trail until it led to a ledge. She sat down and stared at the moon as it brightly shined over the lake making it sparkle. A stary sky was above her, with a breeze coming every now and then. It was such a beautiful night. Bailey whipped away her tears. She got built up, getting jealous of her brother and Marco. She then started thinking of her parents, about that day, the day her life changed forever. She heard a twig snap behind her. She jerked her head around to see Kendal and Marco with a lantern. She turned back around and stared at the sky. They both came and sat next to her, Marco on her right and Kendal on her left. They all just sat there and stared at the sky.
"Your a good soldier Bailey," Kendal said. "Anyone would be lucky enough to have you as a Cadet or Soldier."
"Your just saying that," she said.
"Bailey," Marco said. "You are in the top five in your class, that's amazing! You have great fighting skills and are determined. I've only met one person with determination like you, and he's in the situation as you but still pushes on."
"Well he's a guy Marco.He doesn't have girl feelings."
"She has a point," Kendal said.
"Okay but still, you are a good soldier Bailey!"
She shook her head.
"But will good get me into the Scouts?"
"Bailey," Kendal said. "I know you. You never take no as an answer. Remember that time where mom told you that you couldn't have any cookies because you didn't do your chores? You made a rope and climbed up to the tall shelf and got them, even though you knocked over a vase."
Bailey laughed. She totally forgot about that memory.
"I was little, cookies were everything," she said.
"That's not the point though, you didn't give up even when someone said no. You always put your best effort forward and always work hard."
"You always doubt yourself too," said Marco. "That's what's gonna hold you back Bailey, if you keep doubting yourself you are gonna look at yourself like a horrible soldier instead of a great one."
She nodded.
"Thanks guys, I needed that."
"No problem," Kendal said.
He put her hand on her left shoulder.
"If you ever need anything, we're here for you."
Marco put his hand on her other.
"Always."
She gave them both a hug.
" I love you guys," she said.
"We love you too," they said.
They all sat there, and stared at the moon in the sky. Bailey couldn't help but smile. She had a family again.
