Caelyn has just graduated high school and will go to a college in LA. Eventually, she meets Captainsparklez and romance brews. Their relationship becomes rocky because of the events Caelyn has in her past.
Hello whoever is reading this! (I highly doubt that this will get any attention, but whatever) This is just a little fanfiction I decided to write. Anyways, I hope you enjoy!
Oh also, this is all written in the past tense of Caelyn's pov.
[-----------------------------------------]
A scream cut the air as she awoke to the smell of burning. Panic flooded over her and she quickly struggled against the blankets, trying to get out of the room. A fire seemed to have started, and it was coming close. Smoke filled her lungs and her eyes as she tried to get to her window. Coughing, she stumbled over to the window, now wide awake. Sirens and the crackle of the fire filled her senses as she saw a fire truck and several people. Someone pointed up at her window and a ladder with a fireman on it was extended. Water gushed at the building, but the fire was close.
She was still too winded to scream or to even try and break the glass. The fire reached her door and took her belongings with it. Finally, the fireman had quickly opened the window and reached over to grab her. But it was too late. The fire swept over her legs and she screamed. Quickly grabbing her, the fireman shook her. The flame was put out, but her legs were bleeding and burnign beyond compare. It was too much for her. She blacked out just as a crash came from the sky and rain touched the earth.
I woke up, drenched in cold sweat. Tears leaked out of my eyes and my throat felt dry and rough. I must've screamed in my sleep. It was normal now. My parents had learned to ignore my cries. I quickly wiped my face with my pajamas and sniffed. Glancing over at the clock, I saw it was 6:00. I needed to leave soon or else my drive to LA would be long because of traffic.
I quickly changed and brushed my teeth. Sliding on a comfortable shirt and a pair of jeans, I deemed myself acceptable. I was not a very fashionable girl, and ever since the accident, I never really had much interest in girly things. I had not looked at myself in the mirror as I changed, for reasons only me, my parents and my doctor knew. I had ugly, dark burn scars marking my legs. I never wore shorts and never swam in a swimming pool. Many people had picked on me and once almost found out about my scars. That experience was so mortifying that I had convinced my mom and dad to change schools.
Having been all packed up and ready, I looked at my room. It was bare except for a desk and a chair. I hadn't lived in this home for all my life, but it was something that had a lot of memories in it. I tried not to cry as I lugged my bags down the stairs. I only had two big ones and a backpack. The only bare essentials I needed. If I needed anything else, I could buy it. My parents were sleeping, and being that I didn't want to disturb them, I quietly left the house.
- timeskip to driving -
I got into the car and began to drive, not really feeling any emotion at all. I thought that I should be happy, but what would there be to be happy about? I'd be away from my parents and away from everything I had ever known. But there was also a sense of excitement. What would I do there? What would I see there? I had come from a rather small city so the prospect of living in LA was exciting and frightening. I just sighed. Well, ready or not, I'm going to LA.
