This morning, something exciting happened. Jacob was doing his job. Putting newspapers in the mailboxes. Simon was at home. He's been feeling sick lately. He has a very bad cold. Jacob was at his last mailbox, when a cat walked passed him. It was brown and had hazlenut eyes. It looked hungry and lonely. Jacob felt bad for the cat. So he took the cat with him back to the hut.
On the way home, Jacob thought of a name. He thought of the name Hazel. The cat's eyes were so beautiful! So Jacob decided to call him Hazel. Once Jacob got home, he saw Simon lying down, looking very pale. Jacob felt sad. He hated seeing his best friend like this. Jacob then sat down next to Simon. He put the cat in Simon's arms. Simon was shocked. He had never held, or met a cat before. "W..what's this?" Simon said scared. "It's a cat" said Jacob reassuringly. "I named it Hazel" Jacon added. The cat then curled up on Simon's chest and started purring. "Its cute!" Simon said happily. "Yeah I know" said Jacob laughing. "How are we going to feed him" Simon said, looking at the cat's stomach. "I can talk to the guy at the dairy, they sell cat food" Jacob said. "Great" Dimon said relieved, while cuddling the poor cat.
Simon felt the softness of the cat's fur. It felt like a cloud. Simon was still new to the whole cat thing. But he loved it!! Jacob felt glad that Simon liked Hazel. They are going to take great care of Hazel!
